His later years were passed in Gilsum, to which town the Nashes moved in 1804, taking Cyrus with them. He was a lay preacher in the church of the Christian Connection. He made very fine baskets of different sizes and for various purposes. He farmed a little and lived in various places in Gilsum, where he d., July 24, 1872. He owned and lived in the house at 31, from r876 to 1880. He lived upon the farm at 138 from 1881 to 1908, when he moved to Templeton, Mass. He was a deacon in the church at East Sullivan.

I. ISAAC] BOLSTER and Abigail, his wife, were in Uxbridge, Mass. as early as 1732. II. JOHN2 BOLSTER, son of Isaac, was killed near Hinesburg, Vt., June 23, 1810, by being thrown from a horse. His wife was Abigail Keith. They had several ch., all b. in Uxbridge, and among them, Nathan3, b. there, Apr. 28, 1756, 1.
1. NATHAN3 BOLSTER, son of John2, II., m. Chloe Keith, his cousin, b. in Uxbridge, June 14, 1764 ; d. in S., May 6, 1837 ; dau. of Noah and Deborah (Taft) Keith. He came to the place where Mrs. Preckle now lives, in 1783, at 128, and lived there until his death, which occurred suddenly, Feb. 23, 1823; upon the street in Keene, while there on business. The date of death upon his headstone is wrong. Nathan had fifteen ch .: I. Eastman4, b. in Uxbridge, Mass., Aug. 31, 1782. We know nothing of his family or later life. He is said to have lived at 124 a short time. He paid a poll tax in 1811, probably un- married at the time. The remaining fourteen ch. were all b. at the old home- stead, at 128. 2. Chapin4, 2, b., Feb. 9, 1784. 3. Polly4, b., Jan. 20, 1786, m. Calvin Chapman, q. v. 4. James4, b., Jan. 31, 1788 ; d. young (date not recorded ; perhaps on or near day of birth). 5. Sally4, b., Mar. 2, 1790. No more known of her. 6. James4, 2d of name, b., May 25, 1792, 3. 7. Miriam4, b., Aug. 29, 1794; d. unm. in Keene, Mar. 28, 1837. She was many years the cook in the family of the elder Gov. Dinsmoor, and spent her last days in a cottage on Roxbury St. in Keene, at the foot of Beech Hill. 8. Lucinda4, b., Apr. 13, 1796; m. Ebenezer Benson, q. v. 9. Joel4, b., Jan. 4, 1798. We know no more of him. 10. Nathan Keith4, b., Aug. 26, 1799; d. in S., Dec. 5, 1811. II. Eliza4, b., Oct. 3, 1801 ; m. Chauncy W. Rawson, q. v. 12. Abijah4, b., Apr. 12, 1803. He left town before his marriage. We have been unable to trace his family. 13. Melinda4, b., Mar. 8, 1805. She m. Amos Green of Stoddard. They r. in Lowell, Mass. 14. Laura1, b., Apr. 6, 1807; m., Nov. 24, 1829, Paul Griswold, in Stoddard, by Rev. I. Robinson. She had two ch., Don Carlos and Laura, perhaps others. 15. Lyman4, b., Jan. 10, 1809; d. in S., Apr. 12, 1813. The dates here given follow the town records and are more likely to be right than certain family records which we have consulted.
2. CHAPIN4 BOLSTER, son of Nathan3, 1, m., June 8, 1814, Amy Chandler, b. in Wilton, Nov. 18, 1787; d. in Putney, Vt .; dau. of Ebenezer and Sarah (Averill) Chandler. Asa Chandler of Stoddard, who built the Chandler mill, was her father's brother. Chapin Bolster had six ch., the places of whose births were not given in the record furnished us. 1820; d. in Worcester, Mass., Sept. 30, 1881 ; m. a woman whose first names were Abby E. He came to S., in 1872, from Leicester, and purchased of John Symonds the house at 38 in East Sullivan. Shortly after, he purchased the land at 30, and built a store, which is the ell of the present house, and soon after that he built the house which adjoined the store. He became involved finan- cially, after operating his store about six years. He was post-master four years, 1873-77, with the post office in the store. They had two ch .: I. A son, F. R. S. Bond3, b. in Leicester, Mass .; 2, Florence Avelena3, b. in S., at 30, Jan. 25, 1874. Mrs. Bond is now (1909) living at I King Terrace, Worcester, Mass.
