SENECA WILSON married in 1856 (published in Keene, Nov. 10, 1856) Angelina L. Farr. He was a farmer, and lived in Sullivan for about a year, 1856-7 on the old Solomon Esty place.
IV. FREDERICK A. WILSON FAMILY.
I. WILLIAM1 WILSON, of Lynn, Mass., m. Priscilla Purchase and had four ch .: William, Priscilla, Oliver and Sarah. II. William2 Wilson, of Concord, Mass., son of William1, I, was b. at Lynn, Aug. 28, 1664 ; d. Concord, Aug. 7, 1741. The age on his gravestone would show that he was the son of William1, and investigations show that he could not have been the son of any other known American Wilson. He was the town clerk of Concord, 1710-18; selectman, 1700-17, deputy and repre- sentative to the General Court, 1702, and many other times; was cap- tain of the militia, and a man of prominence in the community and ac- quired a property of many thousands of dollars. He owned two slaves. m. Sarah Blood, who was his first cousin if he was son of the preceding Wilson, and this marriage would strengthen that supposition. They were m. July 1, 1686. She was b. May 5, 1661 at Concord, and d. there, Dec. 19, 1717; dau. of James and Hannah (Purchase) Blood. Their ch. were: Samuel, Sarah, Hannah, Priscilla and William. He m. (2), Dec. 18, 1718, Hannah Pierce of Charlestown, Mass., by Rev. Simon Bradstreet. III. William3 Wilson, 2nd son and youngest ch. of William2, II, was b. at Concord, Apr. 22, 1702; m. Deborah -; lived at Con- cord, and had William, Hannah, Phebe, Ruth, Stephen and Sarah. IV. William4 Wilson, son of William3 III, was b. at Concord, May 8, 1733 ; d. sometime before Feb. 28, 1778, when his death in the Continental army was reported. He m. Hannah Fuller of Stow, Mass .; b. there Apr. 20, 1739; and was m. at Concord by Rev. Daniel Bliss, Nov. 10, 1757. They lived at Concord. He was in Capt. Osgood's company in the ex- pedition to Nova Scotia, in 1755. She was dau. of Josiah and Mary (Whitaker) Fuller. Their ch, were: Samuel, Mercy, Rebecca, and prob- ably others, including a Patty who m. Jesse Gould of Stoddard, and was understood to be a sister of Samuel. V. Samuel5 Wilson, son of William4, IV, was baptized at Concord, Mar. 26, 1758; d. at Stoddard, N. H., Mar. 29, 1844; m. Rachel Locke, b. probably at Chelmsford, Mass., d. Stoddard, Apr. 1, 1826; dau. of Daniel and Abigail Locke. She was a sister of Enos Locke Sr. of Stoddard. Samuel Wilson lived at Ashby, Mass., where his oldest ch. was b., also in Stoddard, where his son, Col. William also lived. He lived, for a time, further north on the Barrett place in Stoddard. Samuel was in the same regiment (but not the same company) as his father, in the Revolution, in 1777. He enlisted in Jan. 1776, before he was 18, and was in the "Siege of Bos- ton." Stoddard, in a log house, near the present one, Oct. 3, 1786; d. at Marlow, Feb. 7, 1874 ; m. May 3, 1813, Rhoda Gould, b. Stoddard, Sept. 10, 1795; d. there, Nov. 25, 1872; dau. of Simeon Jr. and Rhoda (Lane) Gould. Col. and Mrs. Wilson lived together more than 60 years. He was a deacon in the Universalist church in Stoddard (now a dormant church), a select- man 17 times, a representative to the General Court, a colonel in the militia, a surveyor, and a man of prominence in all good works. He had a high regard for education and several of his children were supe- rior scholars and one, William Dexter, attained great distinction. His ch. all b. in Stoddard, were: 1. Lydia Lane7, b. ELIZABETH1 WINCH, spinster, of Great Alhallows, London, in her will, made 1659, proved 1661, calls herself "bound for Virginia" and names her brothers Richard and John. It is thought that John may have been the father of Samuel of Framingham, Mass. Virginia was often used to mean America. I. SAMUEL2 WINCH was in Sudbury, Mass., as early as 1670. A few years later he settled in Framingham and was an original member of the Framingham church. He was buried, Aug. 3, 1718; m. The resi- dence of Caleb Winch was in that part of Fitzwilliam which is now a part of Troy. He served three months in the Revolution, and was in the battle of Lexington. (The recent History of Troy does not find sufficient evidence to place Caleb Winch's name among the soldiers of the Revolution). He probably d. in Troy. It was his second wife, formerly Mrs. Rowe, who gave the town farm to S. The first Mrs. Winch, who d. ac. to the Sentinel, May 7, 1806, "Came to Fitzwilliam 57 years before, when it was a howling wilderness and made the 9th female in town."

He was a good nurse and was thought to have some natural healing gifts. He was a good and honest man. The writer recalls with gratitude his tender care of him, while ill of typhoid fever in 1865. Mr. Winch lived first on the Keith place in S. No. 138; then at Keene where Nahum Wright later lived; then in Keene village on Union St. In 1854, he moved to Nebraska, and was very successful on a farm in Elkhorn. He returned to Keene in 1865. After his first wife's death he moved to Grand Rapids, Mich. He d. in Leominster, Mass., Sept. 10, 1905. He m. (1), Mar. 9, 1847, Caroline Keith, b. S., June 18, 1820; d. Keene, Oct. 16, 1871; dau. of Hammond and Lucinda (Seward) Keith. He m. (2), Apr. 26. 1883, Mrs. Elizabeth Jane (Niblo) Kromer, b. Lancaster,. Pa., Apr. 4, 1825; d. Keene, Apr. 16, 1890. Mr. Wilder had, at one time, astable on Washington St. in Keene. reputation. She was often asked to furnish cake and cream for parties, and many a bride sought her services in making the wedding loaf. They finally moved to 47 Taylor St., where they died. Ch. b. I. JOHN1 WINCHESTER, at the age of 19, embarked in the ship Elizabeth from England, in 1635, and settled in Hingham, Mass .; ad- mitted freeman in 1637. He m. Oct. 15, 1638, Hannah Sealis, dau. of Dea. Richard Sealis of Scituate. In 1650 he removed to Muddy River (now Brookline, Mass.), where he d. Apr. 25, 1694. His widow d. Sept. 18, 1697. II. JOHN2 WINCHESTER, son of John1, I, was bapt. at Hingham, June 2, 1644. He lived at Muddy River, and the records name a wife Hannah, and subsequently a wife, Joanna. He d. Feb. 1, 1717-8. III. HENRY3 WINCHESTER, son of John2, II, was the sixth of ten ch., and m. Oct. 5, 1705, Frances White. They lived in Brook- line. IV. REV. JONATHAN4, son of Henry3, III, was the first minister of Ashburnham, Mass. He was b. Brookline, Apr. 21, 1717; d. Ash- burnham, Nov. 26, 1767. He m. May 5, 1748, Sarah Crofts. V. JONATHAN5, WINCHESTER, son of Rev. Jonathan4, IV, b. at Brook- line, Mass., July 31, 1755; d. Ashburnham, Mass., Jan. 16, 1837; m. Feb. 3, 1783, Persis Whitmore, b. Leominster, Mass., Mar. 3, 1755; dau. of Joseph and Mary ( Marvin) Whitmore. She d. at Ashburnham, July 17, 1837, six months after her husband.
