III. FAMILY OF EDWIN R. LOCKE.
1. EDWIN RUTHVIN? LOCKE, b. in Stoddard, Sept. 18, 1832; d. in Fitchburg, Mass., Feb. 19, 1907 ; was the son of Enos1, Jr., and Harriet (Wilson) Locke. In 1879, he bought the tannery property at East Sullivan, including the Dea. Wilson house at 36. He mortgaged the property to a bank. He operated the tannery but a short time, about two or three years, when the bank foreclosed and sold the plant to John Symonds, who had previously owned it. Mr. Locke does not appear to have been a legal resident of Sullivan, being a non-resident owner of the tannery plant. Usually, he went up from Keene to his business at East Sullivan each morning, returning to Keene at night. He was, however, in the town at intervals, with portions of his family, and boarded with the tenants living at 36. We, therefore, give only an abridged account of his family. He m., in 1854, Helen Eliza Wilson, l). in Jaffrey, Sept. 15, 1835; d. in Keene, Apr.
