1. JOSEPH? OSGOOD, Jr., son of Joseph6, VI., was b. at Methuen, Mass., May 22, 1796; d. at Milford, N. H., May 22, 1860 (according to published Osgood genealogy). He was a farmer; res., in his youth, with his uncle Samuel Osgood in S., at 108 ; after marriage, in Nelson, until 1845, when he moved to Milford. As he was not born in S., and did not live there after his marriage, we shall not seek to trace his descendants in minute detail. He m. ist., Feb. 6, 1821, Polly Jewett of Nelson, b. there, Dec. 5, 1791 ; d. there, Aug. 3, 1841 ; dau. of Isaac and Mary (Chandler) Jewett. He m. 2d, Jan. 17, 1843, Sarah Lovejoy of Milford, N. H., b. there, Sept. 26, 1813; dau. of Wm. and Sarah (Fessenden) Lovejoy. Nine ch. by Ist w., four by the 2d w. The 2d w. was living in 1900, in Weymouth, Mass. The ch. were :

She m., Oct. 1, 1851, Obed Gilman Dort of Keene, b. in Surry, Jan. 25, 1828; d. in Keene, Sept. 4, 1908; son of Eliphalet and Lois (Bemis) Dort. Mrs. Dort was drowned in the Potomac River, Aug. 13, 1862, on returning from a visit to her husband, who was a major in the 6th N. H. Reg. She was one of the passengers on the ill-fated steamer " West Point," which came in collision with the " George Peabody," causing it to sink with most of the passengers. Ch .: 1. On returning from Keene to his home, by the old Sullivan road which led past the Osgood houses, at 247 and 246, when near the house of Dr. Cannon, at 243, in S., he died suddenly in the road, Jan. 31, 1828. Eunice (Pierce), his w., d. in Nelson, Oct. 22, 1853, ae. 87 years. They were m., in Wilton, June 5, 1788, by Rev. Abel Fiske of that town. II. JOSIAH2 PARKER, Jr., their son, b. in Packersfield (Nelson), Nov. 2, 1789; d. in Nelson, Aug. 25, 1839. He m., March 24, 1814, Sophia Griffin, b. in Packersfield (Nelson), Dec. 22, 1790; d. in Nelson, Sept. 17, 1866; dau. of Samuel, Esq., and Sophia (Foster) Griffin ; the latter's father being Rev. Jacob Foster, the first settled pastor of the church in Nelson.

5. REUBEN MINOT4 PARKER, son of Josiah3, 3d, 1, m., Oct. 6, 1904, Marie Jeanne LaPointe, b. in Harrisville, April 16, 1880 ; dau. of Am- broise and Emma Isadore (Symonds) LaPointe. He res. in Nelson and Chesham. He was killed, March 4, 1910, in the mill of P. W. Russell at Chesham. While reaching across a shaft, his clothing caught in the belting and he was rapidly whirled several times over the drum, and his head was crushed, one arm torn from its socket, and the clothing torn from his body. He was doubtless killed almost or quite instantly. One ch .: I. Francis Forest 5, b. in Nelson, Aug. 20, 1906.

He m. 2d, May 21, 1885, Myrtilla Ellenwood Mason, b. in Pottersville (now in Harrisville), Aug. 23, 1860; d. in Keene, April 11, 1911 ; dau. of Stephen Spaulding and Lucy Ann (Collester) Mason. He d., Jan. 31, 1828, in his 63d year, in the road, in S., near the house of Dr. Cannon, at 243, on returning to his home from Keene, by the old road leading past the Roswell Osgood house, now owned by Sidney A. Nims. Eunice, his wife, d. in Nelson, Oct. 22, 1853, ae. 87. II. JAMES2 PARKER, son of Josiah1, I., b. in Packersfield (Nelson), June 28, 1803 ; d. in Nelson, March 7, 1859; m. Ist, March 20, 1828, Mary Bradford, b., Feb. 17, 1804; d. in Nelson, Oct. 21, 1847. He m. 2d, May 9, 1848, Mrs. Louisa Munn (Guillow) Beverstock, b. in Gilsum, Dec. 1, 1816; d. at Munsonville, Feb. 12, 1892; dau. of John and Betsey (Stevens) Guillow, and widow of Daniel W.
