Private, Third Regiment, Field Artillery, U. S. A. Son of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Dexheimer, 1504 South Eighth street, Springfield. Born De- cember 22, 1889. Entered the service June 25, 1918. Received his train- ing at Camp Taylor, Kentucky. Graduated as a Chief Gun Mechanic, from Gun Mechanics School at Camp Taylor, and was ready to go over- seas when the Armistice was signed. Discharged February 14, 1919, at Camp Taylor.


HARRISON OTTO DICKERSON


Private, Company F, 303rd Engineers, U. S. A. Son of Mr. and Mrs. William S. Dickerson, 2019 East Cook street, Springfield. Born October 25, 1888, in Sangamon County. Entered the service April 27, 1918, in Springfield. Received his training at Camp Dix, New Jersey. Sailed overseas May 26, 1918, on the Kashmir. In action in the St. Mihiel Drive. Was at Las Laumes, France, when the Armistice was signed. Discharged June 14, 1919, at Camp Grant, Illinois.

Entered service October 9, 1917, in Spring- field. Received his training at Camp Custer, Michigan, and Camp Meade, Maryland. Sailed overseas March 27, 1918, on the Olympic. Stationed at Worgret Camp, Wareham, England. In action in the St. Quentin Drive. Was gassed. Was on the Belgian border when the Armistice was signed. Discharged April 11, 1919, at Camp Grant, Illinois.


GORDON R. DILLON


Sergeant, Battery E, 79th Regiment, Seventh Division, Regulars, U. S. A. Address, 1800 South Seventh street, Springfield. Born July 31, 1896, in Cincinnati, O. Entered service in Columbus, N. M., in 1915. Received his training at Camp Stewart, Tex., Camp Logan, Tex., Ft. Riley, Kan., Camp Funston, Tex., and Camp McClelland, Ala. Served on the Border. Wounded. Sailed overseas in August, 1918, on the President Grant. Was at Vannes, France, when the Armistice was signed. Discharged March 29, 1919, at Camp Grant, Ill.

CHARLES SMITH DINES


Sergeant, Tank Corps, Headquarters Company, 308th Battalion, U. S. A. Born July 4, 1885, in Macomb, Illinois. Address, 615 East Cass street, Springfield, Illinois. Entered the service in July, 1918, in Springfield. Received his training at Camp Polk, Camp Greene, North Carolina. Was in Raleigh, North Carolina, when the Armistice was signed. Discharged June 6, 1919, at Camp Grant.


ANTHONY DIRKSEN


Sergeant, 114th Military Police, United States Army. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry A. Dirksen, 210 South Walnut street, Springfield. Born January 13, 1894. Entered service June 26, 1918, in Springfield. Re- ceived his training at Camp Taylor, Kentucky, and Camp Beauregard, Louisiana. Sailed overseas August 21, 1918. Saw service at Mehun, Autun and Chaumont. Made Corporal November 4, 1918, and Sergeant. January 9, 1919. Went to Military Police School in Autun, France, and received certificate as instructor of Military Police. Discharged June 27, 1919, at Chaumont, France.


HENRY A. DIRKSEN, JR.


Private, Company A, Tank Corps, United States Army. Son of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Dirksen, 210 South Walnut street, Springfield. Born Decem- ber 13, 1898, in Springfield. Entered service in S. A. T. C., September 30, 1918, and was stationed at St. Louis, Missouri. Volunteered for service in the Tank Corps, and was ready to sail overseas when the Armis- tice was signed. Discharged December 21, 1918, at St. Louis, Missouri.


NOAH MATHENY DIXON


Captain, Infantry, United States Army. Son of Mrs. Fanny Matheny Dixon, 825 South Sixth street, Springfield. Born November 15, 1889. Entered service in August, 1917, in Second Officers' Training Camp, Fort Sheridan, Illinois. Received commission of First Lieutenant of Infantry. Was assigned to Camp Lee, Virginia. Was made Captain of Infantry, August 24, 1918, at Camp Lee. Was ready for overseas service when the Armistice was signed. Discharged December 12, 1918, at Camp .Lee.
