Entered service in May, 1917, in St. Louis, Mo. Received his training at Paris Island, S. C., and Quan- tico, Va. Sailed overseas in September, 1917. In action in Verdun, being gassed April 13, 1918. In hospital until July and then went into action at Soissons. July 19, 1918, he received a shrapnel wound in the hip and he was in hospital until August. Returned to front and was in action in St. Mihiel, Blanc Mont, Argonne Forest and Sedan. Was stationed in Germany until June, 1919. Discharged September 24, 1919, in Wash- ington, D. C.


PERCY LYNDON GORDON


Sergeant, First Class, United States Marine Corps. Son of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Gordon, 6233 Kimbark avenue, Chicago, Ill. Born March 24, 1892, in Kilbourne, Ill. Entered service in November, 1911. Re-enlisted in April, 1917, and was made recruiting sergeant at Springfield. In August, 1917, he was transferred to St. Louis, Mo., where he remained until after the Armistice was signed, serving as publicity Sergeant. Was then transferred to Tucaloosa, Ala. Has not received his discharge at the time of writing.


THOMAS FRANKLIN GORDON


Private, United States Marine Corps. Son of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Gordon, 6233 Kimbark avenue, Chicago, Ill. Born January 19, 1898, in Forest City, Ill. Home in Springfield, Ill. From there enlisted in In- fantry. Assigned to Camp Grant as First Sergeant in Company H, 344th Infantry. Transferred to Machine Gun O. T. S. at Camp Grant, June 1918. Sent to Camp Hancock, Ga., in July for intensive training. Com- missioned Lieutenant, October 14, 1918. Assigned Adjutant 4th Group, M. T. D., Camp Hancock. Discharged there March 7, 1919.


ARTHUR HUBERT GOTTSCHALK


Assistant Band Master, S. A. T. C., University of Illinois, Urbana, Ill. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gottschalk, 414 West Edwards street, Spring- field. Born October 31, 1898, in Springfield. Entered the service Sep- tember 26, 1918, in Urbana. Was at the University of Illinois when the Armistice was signed. Discharged there December 21, 1918.

Entered service August 29, 1917, in Springfield. Received his training at Camp Wadsworth, S. C., and Camp Dix, N. J. Sailed overseas November 1, 1917, on the U. S. S. Utah. In action at Meuse-Argonne and Chateau Thierry. Gassed twice. Was in Paris when the Armistice was signed. Discharged January 27, 1919, at Camp Grant, Ill.

Entered the service June 26, 1918, in Springfield. Received his training at Camp Taylor, Ky. Was at Camp Taylor when the Armistice was signed and was discharged there, December 23, 1918.


JERRY JOSEPH GRADY


Sergeant, 347th Machine Gun, 91st Division, U. S. A. Address, 300 West Jefferson street. Born January 27, 1895. Entered the service June 27, 1917. Received training at Ft. McDolle, Cal. Sailed overseas March 21, 1918 on the Adriatic. Operated with the 91st Division on the Meuse- Argonne and Verdun. Went through Belgium and then spent four months on the lines. Sailed from St. Nazaire, France, May 25, 1919, and was discharged at Camp Grant, June 14, 1919.


BYRON G. GRAFF


First Lieutenant Air Service, U. S. A. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Graff, Jacksonville, Ill. Born February 6, 1888, in Morgan County. Ad- dress, 513 South Seventh street, Springfield. Entered service October 2, 1917, in Springfield. Received his training at Camp Logan, Tex. and Camp Meade, Md. Sailed overseas April 10, 1918 on the Huron and Kroonland. Was stationed at Orly Field and Paris. Was in Paris when the Armistice was signed. Discharged May 31, 1919, at Washington, D. C.

Entered service June 30, 1917, in El Paso, Tex. Received his training at Goat Island, Cal. and Asiatic Station. Served six months aboard the U. S. S. Brooklyn, stopping at Manila, Shanghai, China, Nagasiki, Japan, Vladivostok and Russia. Returned to United States and transferred to U. S. S. Ryndam, making ten trips. In Brest, France, when the Armistice was signed. In service at time of writing.


FORREST LELAND GRAHAM


Private, Air Service, U. S. A. Son of Mrs. L. L. Graham, 6445 Magnolia avenue, Chicago, Ill. Born July 24, 1895, in Chicago, Ill. Entered the service June 21, 1918, in Springfield. Received his training at Kansas City Auto School and Camp John Wise Balloon School, San Antonio, Tex. Was at Camp Wise when the Armistice was signed. Discharged March 20, 1919, at Camp Grant.
