Fireman, United States Navy. Born April 19, 1900, in Springfield, Ill. Address, Divernon, Ill. Entered service August 7, 1918, in Peoria, Ill. Received his training at Great Lakes Naval Training Station, Hampton Roads, Va., and Norfolk, Va. Served on board the U. S. S. Kentucky, making trip to Cuba. After the Armistice was signed was transferred to U. S. S. Great Northern, doing transport duty.
