One month intensive training at Camp De Meucon, Vannes, (Morbinan, ) France. In action at St. Mihiel, Suippes to Moselle operations, and Meuse-Argonne Offensive. Served with Pershing's First Army in the 90th, 42nd, 77th and 78th Divisions. Was at Ivory, on the Verdun Front, when the Armistice was signed. Discharged May 9, 1919, at Camp Grant, Ill.

Radio Electrician, United States Naval Reserve Force. Son of Mrs. Lydia B. Turner, 640 West Monroe street, Springfield, Ill. Born July 26, 1898. Entered service in October, 1917. Received his training at Great Lakes Naval Station. Transferred to Washington, D. C., for duty at the Navy Yard. Later transferred to Naval Air Station at Hampton Roads, Va., doing patrol work, airplane and dirigible flying, along the eastern coast. Again transferred to Washington, D. C., for duty in the Navy Department. Held in the Reserve.

Entered service May 5, 1917, in Springfield, Ill., enlisting for four years. Received his training at Great Lakes Naval Training Station, Paris Island, S. C., Norfolk, Va., and Hampton Roads, Va. Served aboard the U. S. S. Mercury and the U. S. S. New Jersey on convoy duty. Was at the Receiving Ship, Norfolk, Va., when the Armistice was signed.
