Was on the latter when the Armistice was signed. Released from active duty March 19, 1919.

First Lieutenant, Cavalry, Headquarters Troop, Fifth Division, U. S. A. Son of Frank Burley, 618 South Spring street, Springfield, Illinois. Born March 6, 1882, in Ashland, Illinois. Has been in the Regular Army fifteen years. Sailed overseas April 16, 1918, on the Philadelphia. In action in St. Mihiel Sector, Meuse-Argonne Offensive. Was in Meuse- Argonne when the Armistice was signed. Sailed from France June 2, 1919, on the U. S. S. Henderson, and was discharged June 25, 1919.

Sailed overseas March 31, 1918, on the George Washington. In action in the Meuse-Argonne and Verdun. Was in action on the Verdun front when the Armistice was signed. Discharged June 18, 1919, at Camp Dodge, Iowa.

Made three trips overseas while in service. Was in New York when the Armistice was signed. Discharged July 11, 1919, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Received his training at Great Lakes Naval Station. Assigned to the U. S. S. Texas on June 3. 1917, and then transferred to the U. S. S. Mt. Vernon. Made nine trips across with soldiers. Is still in the service at time of writing.
