Shot down, wounded and made prisoner, October 14, 1918. Abandoned near Paucet, Belgium, by Germans when Armistice was signed, and cared for by Mrs. Isabelle Seny, a Belgian, who nursed his wounds. Cited twice for gallantry in action, October 8, by General Pershing, and by the British for bravery in action September 24. Awarded British Distinguished Flying Cross, and Special War Medal by Amer- ican Aero Club. Officially credited with six Hun planes. Discharged April 29, 1919, at Garden City, N. Y.

In action at Chateau Thierry, Verdun, St. Mihiel, Champagne and Argonne Forest. Was wounded and in Base Hospital No. 77, Beaume, France, when the Armistice was signed. Discharged July 24, 1919, at Quantico, Va.


FRANCISJUS J. KRASAUSKIS


Private, Company P, Twenty-second Engineers, U. S. A. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Mikolas Krasauskis. Born November 8, 1894, in Batakey, Lithuania, Russia. Address, 1701 East Matheny avenue, Springfield. Entered service June 25, 1918, in Springfield. Received his training at Camp Taylor, Ky. and Ft. Benjamin Harrison, Ind. Sailed overseas September 15, 1918. In active service in France. Was in France when the Armistice was signed.


GEORGE P. KREIDER


Second Lieutenant, Battery D, 348th Field Artillery, Seventh Army Corps. Son of Dr. and Mrs. George N. Kreider, 500 South Fifth street, Spring- field. Born April 10. 1895, in Springfield. Entered service with the Dartmouth College Unit in May, 1917, serving six months with the French Army Motor Service on the Chemin des Damas Front. Dis- charged from French service in November, 1917. Enlisted in U. S. Army in December, 1917. Received training at Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga. Sailed overseas April 16, 1918. Was at Verdun when the Armistice was signed. Discharged April 30, 1919, at Camp Dix, N. J.

Entered service June 19, 1918, in Spring- field. Received his training at Rahe Army School, Kansas City, Mo. and Camp Holabird, Md. Sailed overseas September 28, 1918, on the Lev .- athan. Stationed at Engineers Camp, Souilly, France. In Commercy, France, when the Armistice was signed.


ARTHUR KREMITZKI


Sergeant, Troop L, Third Cavalry, U. S. A. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Wil- liam Kremitzki, 717 North Seventeenth street, Springfield. Born Jan- uary 14, 1895, in Springfield. Entered service May 11, 1912 and served on the Mexican Border. Discharged May 10, 1915 and re-enlisted August 7, 1915. Received training at Ft. Bliss, Tex. Was stationed at Panama during the World War. Was at Corozal, Panama, when the Armistice was signed. Stationed at Ft. Myer, Va., with Troop L, Third Cavalry, at time of writing.


WALTER H. KRESS


Lieutenant, Field Clerk, Headquarters Company, 159th Depot Brigade, U. S. A. Son of William and Louisa Kress, 619 North Grand Avenue, west, Springfield. Born August 14, 1892, in New Berlin. Entered serv- ice February 23, 1918, in Springfield. Received his training at Camp Taylor, Ky. Was at Camp Taylor when the Armistice was signed.


JOSEPH CARL KROS


Corporal, Ordnance Department, U. S. A. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kros, Springfield, Ill. Born November 19, 1896, in Edwardsville, Ill. Entered service September 3, 1918, in Chicago. Received his training at Old South Division High School, Chicago, Camp Hancock, Ga., and Erie Proving Ground, O. Was at Camp Hancock, where he was re- ceiving training in the Ordnance Supply School, when the Armistice was signed. Transferred to Erie Proving Ground, O., where he acted as clerk at the Trench Warfare Range. Discharged March 8, 1919.

Johnston, Fla., and Camp Upton, N. Y. Sailed overseas September 16, 1918, on the Mentor. Trained further at Motor Reception Park, Nantes, France, and at Camps No. 3, 8 and 9, at St. Nazaire. Was at Nantes, France, when the Armistice was signed. Discharged August 6, 1919, at Camp Grant, Ill.


FRANK KRUG


Chief Mechanic, Battery C, 327th Regiment, 84th Division, U. S. A. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Krug, 1624 East Phillips avenue, Springfield. Born November 3, 1895, in Staunton. Entered service September 17, 1917, in Springfield. Received his training at Camp Taylor, Ky. Sailed overseas September 5, 1918, on the Orduna. Was stationed in Camp DeSouge, France. Was in Bordeaux, France, when the Armistice was signed. Discharged February 22, 1919, at Camp Grant, Ill.
