FIELDING F. IRELAND

Received his training at Great Lakes Naval Station and Harvard University. Was in New York, waiting to go overseas, when the Armistice was signed. Received train- ing at Great Lakes Naval Station and Harvard University, where he received his rating in Radio. Sent to Norfolk, Va., preparatory to going out to sea, but was held there for special work. Later detailed at Pensa- cola, Fla., where he spent four months of secret experimental work with "Anti Air Craft Fire Control." Discharged August 20, 1919, at Great Lakes, Ill.


PATRICK JOSEPH KELLY


Sergeant, Ambulance Company, Medical Department, U. S. A. Son of Mrs. Ellen Kelly, 1229 East Monroe street, Springfield. Born Feb- ruary 10, 1891. Entered service June 26, 1918, in Springfield. Re- ceived his training at Camp Taylor, Louisville, Ky. Was ready for overseas service, but owing to the Influenza epidemic, his company was kept at camp to take care of the patients. Discharged in March, 1919, at Camp Taylor, Ky.


EUGENE VIRNICE KELLEY


Private, 421st Telephone Battalion, Seventh Army Corps, U. S. A. Son of Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Kelley, Independence, Mo. Born December 19, 1896, in Farmington, Ill. Address, 725 South Cottage, Independence, Mo. Entered service September 1, 1918, in Springfield. Received his training at Ft. Leavenworth, Signal School, Kan. Sailed overseas October 22, 1918, on the Leicestershire. Did signal duty in Knotty Ash, Eng- land, Winchester, England, Cherbourg, France, and Brest, France. Was in Cour Chevernay, France, when the Armistice was signed. Discharged February 15, 1919, at Camp Grant, Ill.

Received his training at Great Lakes Naval Training Station and at Camps Dewey and Perry. Was assigned to the U. S. S. Great Northern, in October, 1918, and made seven trips across the ocean on transport duty. Was on high seas when the Armistice was signed. Discharged August 18, 1919, at Pittsburgh, Pa.


HENRY N. KEMP


Private, U. S. A. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas P. Kemp, deceased. Address, 412 South Glenwood avenue, Springfield. Born January 9, 1891, in Pickett, Ky. Entered service January 8, 1913, in Springfield. Received his training at Jefferson Barracks, Mo., and Ft. Bliss, Tex. Sailed overseas June 12, 1917, on the Tenadoris. Was in Bordeaux, France, when the Armistice was signed. Furloughed to Regular Army Reserve July 27, 1919.
