Received his training at Jefferson Barracks, Mo. and Camp Taylor, Ky. Sailed over- seas October 23, 1918, on the Lapland. Stationed at Camp Hunt and La Havre, France. Was in England when the Armistice was signed. Discharged July 15, 1919, at Camp Grant, Ill.

Entered service June 19, 1918, in Springfield, Ill. Received his training at Great Lakes Naval Training Station. Was at Great Lakes Naval Training Station when the Armistice was signed. Discharged January 8, 1919. at Great Lakes, Ill.

Private, Company L, 147th Regiment, 37th Division, U. S. A. Son of Mrs. John Parson. 'Born October 12, 1894, in Pawnee, Ill. Address, 920 East Lawrence avenue, Springfield, Ill. Entered service April 28. 1918, in Springfield, Ill. Received his training at Camp Dix, N. J. and Camp Lee, Va. Sailed overseas June 22, 1918, on the Caserta. In action in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. Was at Champs-Sur-Marne when the Armistice was signed. Wounded in right leg by machine gun October 1, 1918, and was in Base Hospital No. 25, Alaray, France, until October 25, 1918. Discharged April 13, 1919, at Camp Grant, Ill.

Served at the Powder Plant and Fair Grounds, Springfield, Ill., and Camp Logan, Houston, Texas, with Company C. Transferred to Headquarters Troop, Thirty-third Division, October 4, 1917, at Camp Logan, Texas. Later transferred to Air Service in May, 1918. Stationed at Ellington Field, and School of Military Aeronautics, Austin, Texas, graduating September 28, 1918. Assigned to Camp Dick, Dallas, Texas, and Kelly Field, San Antonio, Texas. Was at Kelly Field when the Armistice was signed. Discharged December 16, 1918, at Kelly Field, San Antonio, Texas.

Fireman, First Class, United States Navy. Son of Mrs. Mary Peters, 1612 South Spring street, Springfield, Ill. Born January 30, 1889, in Springfield, Ill. Entered service in June, 1918, in Springfield, Ill. Re- ceived his training at Great Lakes Naval Training Station. Served on board the U. S. S. Texas. Was at sea when the Armistice was signed. Discharged in May; 1919, at New York, N. Y.

Corporal, Company A, 117th Ammunition Train, 42nd or Rainbow Divi- sion, U. S. A. Born November 27, 1893, in Willow Springs, Mo. Address, 711 East Adams street, Springfield, Ill. Entered service June 12, 1917, in Kansas City, Mo. Received his training at Camp Mills, L. I. Sailed overseas in October, 1918, on the America. Served with the Rainbow Divi- sion until within two weeks of signing of the Armistice. In action at Luneville and . Baccarat Sectors, Chateau-Thierry, St. Mihiel, Argonne, Chalons. Suippes and Champagne. Just before the Armistice, was assigned to Ordnance Department at Mahune, France. Was in hospital when the Armistice was signed. Transferred to the Motor Transport Corps for special detached service with the American Embassy in Paris. Remained in Paris when Division returned to America. Discharged July 9, 1919.
HERMAN H. PHILLIPS
Private, Infantry, U. S. A. Son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Phillips, . White Hall, Ill. Born October 24, 1892, in Lethroup, Mo. Entered service September 18, 1917, in Des Moines, Ia., from Springfield, Ill. Received his training at Camp Dodge, Ia., and Camp Cody, Mex. Sailed overseas June 26, 1918. In action at Verdun and Chateau Thierry. Was wounded and gassed. In casual camp, Mars, France, when the Armistice was signed. Discharged March 19, 1919.
