The total production of bullion in the State for the ten years ending with December, 1879, reached the fabulous sum of $350,000,000. The valleys are very rich for agricultural purposes, vegetables, grain, tobacco, hay and other products, as experiments show, yielding quite an income to those thus engaged. Battle Mountain, LANDER COUNTY.
A station on the Central Pacific Rail- road, 517 miles east of San Francisco and 95 miles north of Austin, the county seat.
