San Ţ ₹o,
SAN DIEGU -KTY,
Is the county sent and is pleasantly sit- uated on the hay of the same name. The harbor is excellent; the best, in fact, on the southern coast, being completely land-locked. San Diego is noted as a health resort, the climate being the most equable in Southern California. She is destined to be the principal sea port of that section at no distant day. There is a fine system of water works, a weather signal station, military station, and ens- tom house. The Pacific Coast steamers call regularly every five days, and there are daily stages connecting with San Francisco via Los Angeles and Sants Ant. The stage line is under the per- sonal supervision of the owner, Mr. A. L. Seeley, a veteran stageman, and is a first- class line in every respect. The Horton House, an elegant hotel, under the min- agement of C. P. Gerichten, extends every comfort and luxury sought by the tourist or business man. The popula- tion of San Diego is estimated at 3,000.
