Logan, CACHE COUNTY,

Is a county seat and postoffice, 67 miles from Ogden, on the line of the Utah and Northern Railroad, having a popu- lation of 4,000 persons. It is beauti- fully situated, uicely laid out and hand- somely built ; has a large woolen mill, giving employment to quite a number of operatives. The Tabernacle and Temple are the chief features of attraction, the former costing upwards of $200,000, and the latter, now under course of construc- tion, will cost, it is estimated, in the neighborhood of $500,000. The town is also situated on Bear river, a pretty stream, where "speckled beauties " are caught during the summer season in great numbers. The health of the place is fine and the schools excellent.

SAN PETE COUNTY,

The county seat of San Pete county, has a population of 2,000 souls. It is 133 miles from Salt Lake City in a southerly direction. The vast deposits of beauti- ful white sandstone in the immediate vicinity sinnly all the demands for building material of that character, of which a majority of the buildings of the Wootton A, school teacher

city have been constructed. There is in course of construction and rapidly ap- proaching completion a Tabernacle, which will form one of the attractive features of this pleasant little city, and which will serve the people most pecu- liarly as a monument of refined culture, energy and devotion to the cause of re- ligious doctrine. There is also a temple now building that will be an ornament to the city, and which will forever show the spirit which permeated the commu- nity of the present period.

Is about one mile north of Ogden, in a prosperous and thriving agricultural district, and has a population of 1,400. The town is well supplied with excellent water by several mountain streams, and has four district schools, all well attend- ed, thus showing that an appreciation of educational matters is widely felt, and that the advantages of social and moral standing are conducive to good govern- inent and happiness. The residence of Sidney Stevens, Esq., is the handsomest in. the city, by whose courtesy of de- meanor he has won the respect of the whole community, and has reaped a rich reward and a liberal patronage.
