Reno, WASHOE COUNTY.

This town is pleasantly located on the Central Pacific Railroad, 154 miles from Sacramento. It is connected with Car- son City and Virginia by the Virginia and Truckee Railroad. It is the county seat. The place has twice been visited by disastrous conflagrations, which, both tunes, completely devastated the busi- ness portions of it, but such is the en- ergy and enterprise of its citizens, that now it is built more substantially and beautifully than ever. Among the inany new buildings there is a very neat thea- ter, and a fine building used as a board- ing school, which has accommodations for 120 pupila. It is under the control of the Sisters of Charity. Business of every kiud is well represented. Its in- habitants are moral, industrious, and are determined to do all they can to make their town as good as any in the State. Its present population is about 3,000.
