[356] At a Meeting of ye Selectmen on Monday ye 20th- day of Febry : Anno: Domini 1769 at the Houfe of mr Thomas Saltmarfh-They Agreed to have ye Publick Annual March Meeting on Monday ye Sixth Day of march Next at Nine of ye Clock in the Forenoon at ye publick Meeting Houfe-and ordered the Clerk to Issue out Warrants Directed to the Conftables to warn all ye freeholders & other Inhabitants who are Quallified To Vote in town affairs to Afsemble & meet together at sd: time and place for the Ends following (Viz)-


First to Choofe a Moderator for sd: meeting (2ly) To Choofe Selectmen a Town Clerk Treafurer & all other town officers Required by law to be Chofe in ye month of march annually. (3ły) To Choofe a Saxton and agree how he Shall be paid for his Service, (4ły) To put in their Votes for a County Treafurer. (5ly) To know ye minde of the town Whether Swine Shall Run at large the Enfueing year- (6ly) To Choofe a Committe to Examin the Treafurers accounts- (7ly) To appropriate the In- terest money comeing to ye town the prefent Year the Year Begining the Eleventh day of December last past (Sly) To grant a Sallary for the Revd: m' Seth Storer for ye Enfueing the year begining the first day of march Next (9ly) To grant money to Support the Schools that the town may agree Shall be keept the Enfueing year. and Act any thing Relating thereto as the town may think proper -

At a meeting of sd Commtee at m' Prentices March ye 27: 1768 They Agreed with m': Nath" Bond the prefent School Mafter to keep ye Grammer School anothe Quarter at the Rate of £8: 6: 8 pr Quarter the Quarter to begin the Second Day of April Next allowing him the liberty of leaveing the School at any time giveing ye Comtee- timely Notice -


At a meeting of sd Comtee- at m' Prentices may 9th_ 1768- M' Bond haveing notified the Comtee- that he was about to leave the School they Agreed wth m' Nathaniel Harrington to keep the Grammer School a Quarter of a year at the Rate of

At a meeting of Said Comtee- at m' Prentices June-15- 1768 they Determined that there Should be a Vacancy in the Gramer School to begin the 27th- day of the prefent month and to Continue Seven Weeks-


At Said meeting they Determined that there Should be five womans Schools Opened to begin the 27th: day of June Inftant accordingly they Agreed with m' Joseph Hays wife to keep a School in their houfe-They agred alfo with mis Kezia Stone to keep a School in the new School Houfe and mr Samuel Mafons wife to keep a School in the Houfe where they live-and mis Hannah Bright to keep a School in m' Phinehas Stearns's Houfe- And m' Eirs Tainters wife to keep a School in their Houfe Accordingly they keept School eight weeks each at Two pounds old Tenor pr- Week Said miftrefses to find rooms or alow for them out of their wages -


At a meeting of said Comtee- at m' Prentices Oct. 17-1768 they Agreed with mr Nathaniel Harrington to keep the Gramer School to the first mondy of march next


[359] After the Rate of £250 old Tenor pr year his first Quarter Expiring the day next following Said meeting-The Said Comtee- agreed to procure wood for the School, The master to use his indeavours to Collect the money of the Schollers for that purpose. each Scholler to advance half a Pistereen for the first payment


At a Meeting of Said Comtee- at m' Richardfons Dec' 2: 1768 They Agreed and Contracted with m' John Stratton to keep a Writing School at the new School Houfe in the eaft part of the Town for four weeks for Eighteen pounds old Tenor and ac- cordingly he began December the 12th_


At a Meeting of Said Comtee- at m' Prentices's Janty- 5th- 1769 They Agreed with m' Stratton to keep the School in the East part of the town five weeks more making in the whole nine weeks after the Rate of two Dollars pr Week


At a meeting of Said Comtee- at m' Prentices Febry- 2-1769 They Agreed to hire m' John Stratton to keep a Writing School Eight weeks in the west part of the town at M' Wm- Bonds at two Dollars pr week. Mr Bond to have ten Shillings old Ten" pr week for a Room to keep Said School in-
