In order to Settle the Dispute with Regard to the Landing and way thereto on Charls-River on the South Side of Samuels Hill (So Called) The Selectmen of Watertown voted unanimously First that the Road or way Leading down to the Landing place on Charls River by the Side of Samuels Hill Is the Kings High- way

At the Meeting of ye Selectmen of Cambridge & Watertown Mentioned on the other Side the following Agreement was Entered into to be Laid before each town for Confirmation (Viz)


Cambridge November the 19th Day 1770 Be it remembered that on the 19th Day of Novr 1770


The Selectmen of Cambridge and the Selectmen of Watertown being meet together to determin the Respective Rights of the two towns aforesaid to the Landing place on Charls-River by the Side of Samuels Hill in Cambridge aforesaid, It was mutually agreed upon by & Between The Selectmen of said Towns that the Choice of the two parts of Said Landing place Should be Determined by Lott, and Thereupon two Lotts being Cast, On the One the word North being Wrote & on the other the word South being wrote, They being put into a Hat and being Drawn out, The Lott North was Drawn by The Selectmen of the Town of Cambridge, and the Lott South by The Selectmen of the town of Watertown, Whereupon it was Agreed by and between the Selectmen of the Said Towns of Cambridge & Watertown That the Moiety or one half part of Said Landing Place from the North Be and Remain to the Said Town of Cambridge For Ever - And that the other Moiety or half part of Said Landing place from the South Be and Remain unto the Said Town of Watertown For Ever In Witnefs whereof the Selectmen of Said Towns of Cambridge and Watertown have Hereunto Interchangably Set their Hands the day and year afore written

At a Meeting of Sd: Comtte at the Houfe of m' : Benjn. Prentice on the 22" Day of march. 1770 It was Agreed that m' Harrington Should keep the Grammer School one Month from ye march meeting if he is willing. and it was further Agreed that three of the Committe (Viz) Mifsrs. Thomas Clark Sam" White and Samuel Sanger Should take care to provide another Master to take the School whem Master Harringtons time is up - and it Appearing that m': Harrington was not willing to keep any Longer the Comtte. Agreed with Nathanial Bond for a Quarter of a year to begin the Second day of April and he to have at the Rate of 33 : 6 : 8 Pr year


At a Meeting of ye Committee at the Houfe of m': Edward Richardfon on the 4th Day of June 1770 it was Agreed to have five womens School to begin on the Eleventh day of June Inftant (Viz) Sarah Learned to keep one at the Houfe of m': Bezaleel Stephen Whitney's wife at their Houfe, Hannah Bright at her fathers Houfe, Christopher Grant juniors wife at their Houfe, & Kezia Stone at the New-School Houfe

At a Meeting of the School Comtte at the Houfe of m' : Nathaniel Coollidge it was Agreed that the womens Schools Should be kept four weeks Longer, which will be twelve weeks in the whole and will Extend to ye first day of September and it was Agreed that m': Bond be Desired to keep ye Gram' School an other Quarter, which he did and began on the thirteenth day of August.


At a meeting of ye School Comtte on the 22th day of Nov': at the Houfe of m': Bezaleel Learned Mr: Bond being yet in the it was Determined that he Should keep out an other Quarter if he be willing

It being thought Necessary to put Some timber under Tredaways Bridge (So Called) to Support that part that yet Remains to prevent any Damage being don by its falling when men or Horfes & Carriages are pafsing over the Same. the Selectmen Desired Some of the Neighbours to afsift which they did & partly Secured the Same. and Agreed that Jonathan Brown Compleat the work the next day if the weather Permit. and that the Expence be paid out of the Treafury
