[60] A Lift of Jury men was Laid before the Town for their Confideration and Acceptance. After Confideration the Town Voted that Ebenezer Thornton John Bright & Henry Learned Should be taken out, All the Reft with the Addition of Thirteen New ones were by a Vote Accepted of by the Town Amounting to 82 Perfons. Sixteen of which being in the Superiour Box, the Town Voted four more to be added to sd Box, vizt. Sam! Thatcher Edw. Harrington Nath1. Harrington & Sam! Fisk .- (the List is on file)
At a Meeting of ye Selectmen at ye Houfs of Jonas Bond Esq". on the 19th. Day of March AD. 1749. There being a Necefsitie that Some Plank be procured for the Great Bridge. Agreed that Mr Edwd Harrington one of the Selectmen, take Speedy care to See where Plank may be had and procure Seven hundred feet Sutable for sd Bridge.
The Pound wanting Some thing to be done to it for the Strengthening of ye same, Agreed that there be procured Two Sutable Chisnut pools big enough to be Split to brce therewith evry Corner of ye Pound upon the Cap's And that Mr Sam! Stratton be Defired to under take procuring sd pools and to do the work.
It was Agreed among the Selectmen yt. m'. William Jenifon be treeted with, to See whether He will undertake to keep the Grammer and Englifh School in the Town for one Quarter of a Year.

The Seats at ye School houfe being Some what out of order Agreed that M' Sam! Stratton be Defired to do what is Necessary (Relating to them) for the prefent, as alfo to fix up the Stocks. At a meeting of ye Selectmen at the Houfe of M' Jonathan Bemif on the 16th Day of April 1750. M' Wm. Jenifon who ye Selectmen had Agreed with to keep the School, being Removed by Death. The Selectmen Since the Death of M' Jenifon have Made Application to a Gentle. in order to have the School Supplyed with a Mafter and to know his Terms, but sd GentIns. Terms were so high that the Selectmen could not Comply with. The Selectmen Agreed that Deacon Sam1 Fisk the prefent Sealer of Waites & Meafures be Defired to Carry what waites & Meafures &c that Wants to be New tryed, to the Province Standard, and git them Tryed and to be Satisfyed by ye Town for his Trouble and Cost.

And Concerned for the Tranquilitie of ye Town, as alfo Con- fidering the Obligns. a People Injoying the Precious Gospel of Chrift are under both in point of Duty and Intreft to maintain and promote the Same, and Honerly. to Support and Incourrage the Minifters thereof.
Agre'd to Call the Inhabts. of sd Town together, that they might have the Oppertunity further to manifest their Love and Refpect to ye Gospel by their Readinefs and Willings to make Such a further Grant to their Revd Paftor as an Addition to ye Sum Latly Granted for His Salary as wth. that may be a Honour- able Support for Him, and Incourage him Cherfully to go on in ye great work of ye Miniftry among us. and there by further Manifeft yr Love and Refpect to him as their Revd Paftor. Accordingly, Ordred the Clerk to Isue out Warrants Directed to the Conftables of sd Town To warn the freeholdrs. and other Inhabts. of Watertown Quallifyed to Vote in Town Affairs to meet at ye Publick Meeting Houfe in said Town on Munday the Eleventh Day of June Next at four of ye Clock afternoon for the Ends following vizt. 1. To Choofe A Moderator for sd Meeting. 2ly To know the mind of ye Town (that whereas the Sum granted at ye Laft Town Meeting for ye Revd. Mr Storers Salary for ye prefent Year is Lefs than what was Granted him the Laft Year, which Occations uneafinefs in ye minds of many of ye Inhabts. who are heartily Defirous that yr Revd Paftor sld. be Honly. Supported agreable to the dignity of his Office as a Gospel Minifter) Whether they will make a further Grant of a Sutable Sum of Money for ye Revd M' Storer to be added to ye grant aforesd made at Laft Town Meeting for His Salary for this prefent Year, And to be Afseft there with, whereby He (our Revd Paftor) may be further Incouraged Cherfully to go on in the great work of ye Miniftry amongft us.
