At a Publick Town Meeting on Marh. ye 23d. 1784 by Adjourn- ment. at the publick Meeting House the Moderator being Absent the Town made Choice of Mr. Sam1. White for their Moderator the Meeting being Opened they Adjourned to monday the 29th of March Instant at four O Clock Afternoon to Meet at the Meet- ing House ~ and there being no Businifs to transact at sd: Ad- journment the Meeting Ceased

At a Meeting of the Selectmen on Monday ye 22d of March 1784 at the House of Capt. Daniel Parker they Directed the Clerk to Ifsue out Warrants to the Conftables to warn Such of the In- habitants of Watertown As Are Qualified. by Law to Vote for Govenours and fenators to meet at the Publick Meeting House in Watertown on Monday the fifth Day of April Next at two O Clock Afternoon in Order to Give in their Votes for A Govenour Leiut. Govenour and five Senators for the County of Middlefex, Agreeable to the Constitution of this Commonwealth Warrants were Ifsued out Accordingly ~

The Selectmen being present the meeting was Opened and the votes for A Govenour were Called for brought in Sorted and Counted and it Appeared that

Watertown May the 12th: 1783 ~ Whereas Josiah Capen Esq": of Watertown aforesaid hath laid open 2 1/3 Rods way begining at the old road near the Land of Dr- Marshal Spring till it comes to an Open way by land of Jnº- Remmington Esq'. and wholly throughout his own Land, and whereas the said Capen hath freely and without any consideration from The Town therefor Granted the same for and As A publick road or Town way, and it Appears to us the Subscribers the Selectmen of the Town of Watertown that it will be for the Interest of this Town that the fame be made A publick Town Road ~ Do hereby Accept thereof and lay out the fame as a publick Town Road of 2 1/3 Rods wide. as the fence now Stands- till it comes to the Mill pond (so called) then 21/2 Rods wide from the said mill pond till it comes to said Old way Then the width to continue from the Mill Creek (so Called) to Land of Jnº. Remmington Ezekiel Hall and William Hunt until it comes to the County Road leading over the Great Bridge in Said Watertown, which said Road we hereby Lay out as a publick Town Road and from henceforward to be Confidered As such ~
