Alfo that another Meeting of the Inhabitants Qualified to vote in Town Affairs be on the fame Day at three O Clock to transact Bufinefs Relating to the Affairs of The Town and Directed the Clerk to Ifsue Warrants to the Constables to warn Said meetings Warrants were Ifsued accordingly. At a Publick Town Meeting of the Inhabitants of Watertown who are Qualified according to the Constitution to vote in the choice of a Representative Regularly assembled at the meeting House in sd. Town on monday the third Day of May AD 1784. The Selectmen being present the votes for a Representative being called for, brought in sorted and Counted it appeared that The Town made Choice of William Hunt Esq". to Represent the Town the enfuing year,
And at a meeting of such of the Inhabitants of sd. Town as are Qualified by Law to vote in Town Affairs Regularly Afsembled at the Publick meeting House on the fame Day for the purpose of transacting the businefs mentioned in the warrant for calling said Meeting they proceeded and chose Mr. Sam1. White Moderator for said Meeting
and on the 2d. Article voted & granted the sum of seventy pounds to repair the Great Bridge. ~

On the 7th Article voted that the Treafurer be Directed to call upon the Collectors of outstanding Taxes to fettle and close their Accoumpts with him as foon as possible with Convenience Sth. Article. The Committee chosen to fettle the Treafurers and a Grant Accts. made report of their doing which was Accepted 1 made to pay the Ballance Due to Jona. Brown Esq see the Report on file ~ and the Committee who were chosen to make sale of of the two pews that belong to the Town made report of their Doings which was Accepted and is as follows .

On the Third Article Voted That Whereas the General Court have voted A Lottery to enlarge the Great Bridge over Charles River 12 feet voted that we the Inhabitants of watertown will engage to indemnify and fave harmlefs our Managers and that they will Agree to take on their own Risque their proportionable part of those Tickets that may remain unsold after the Expiration of the Term of time that hath or may be Allowed by the General Court Provided the Managers Account with the Town for the Expenditure of the moneys raised by said Lottery
On the 4th. Art1. Voted to Chuse a Committee to Join with the 1 feveral Towns who are Defireous of Petitioning the General Court for a Repeal of the Act Refered to in the fourth Article of the Warrant, and made Choice of Mefsrs. Amos Livermore & Richard Clark for sd. Committee and further it is Defired that the Representative for said Town use his Influence to Obtain a Repeal of said Act
On the 5th. Art !. Voted that the Representative be Defired to use his Influence to Obtain an Act of the General Court impowering This Town to Chuse Collectors to Compleat the Collection of any lists of Outftanding Taxes in the Hands of Collectors that may be unable to Compleat the fame and may be Given into the Hands of the Selectmen
On the 6th Art !. voted That the Selectmen be Defired to Call upon 1 All Committes Chosen by the Town to Settle make report to the Town of their Doings At the next Meeting ~

Eliot the fum of fifty pounds in part for his Sallery for the Prefent year ~ They Also gave the Treasurer an Order to pay Jonathan Brown Esq the fum of Fifty seven pounds feven fhillings & eight pence in full for his fervices and the Ballance due to him on the Settle- ment of his accounts as Treafurer of said Town ~
They Also Agreed to have a meeting of the Selectmen of Water- town Wefton & Waltham at the House of Cap Jonath". Maynard inholder in Watertown to be on Wednesday the 20th. Day of October Inst. To fee what is Necessary to be Done to fecure the Great Bridge ~
at said meeting Mr. Jonah Sanderson Lodged an Information with the Selectmen that he had Taken into His House one Luda Harrifs and Abigail his Wife who Came to said on the 26th Day of July 1784 and came last from Waltham their Circum- ftances unknown ~ to him

Grant Jur. the sum of £ 12 " 18 " 6 in full for an Order Drawn upon the Selectmen by Jedh. Learned for Keeping Jas. Hays Child to the fixth Day of sep". 1784 ~ Alfo Ordered the Treasurer to pay said Grant three pounds in full for his fervice As Collector for the year 1777 Alfo Twenty fhillings in full for his service in Collecting Receipts of the payment of soldiers Bounties & 2/6 for half Bushel of meal for Deld. ye poor Alfo one pound two fhillings in full for his Expences as Selectman for the year 1783 - & one fhilling he paid at the Registers office
They Also Gave the Treasurer an Order to pay James Blibler the fum of one pound Sixteen fhillings in full for his Trouble in Keeping Mary Learned up to the 6th. Day Nov. 1784

At a Meeting of the Selectmen at the House of Mr. Samuel Will- ington Inholder in Watertown on Monday the 21st. Day Feby 1785 they agreed that the Annual March meeting should be on Monday the feventh Day of March Next at nine O Clock in the forenoon at the Publick Meeting House, and Ordered the Clerk to Ifsue Warrants Directed to the Constables to warn the Free- holders and other Inhabitants Qualified to vote in Town Afairs to meet at said time and place for the Purpofes following (viz) First To Chuse a Moderator for said Meeting
