At this meeting ye Selectmen gave the Surveyors of ye High- ways their Deftricts as follows (Viz) To m' Samuel Sanger ye Westerly Part. From the meeting Houfe over this hill where the old Meeting Houfe Stood to m' Kemball's Corner-and the lane from School-Houfe by L': Whitneys to Waltham line near mr Nathaniel Harringtons Houfe. and all the South Roads to Newton line-And m' Isaac Sanderfon to have the Easterly Part. (Viz) The Road under ye Rocks & from m' Thomas Harringtons to Samuel Warrins & from thence to m' John Kemballs Corner and the Roads east of that Road that leads over ye Hill to the meeting Houfe untill you come to Cambridge line it was alfo Agreed that m' John Kemball be Defired to See that ye following late Surveyors of High-ways work out the Remainder of their lists under the Rocks (Viz) Thomas Learned, Joseph Coollidge, Richard Clark, Daniel Sawin, Edward Richardfon, Jonas Bond, Sam" Mafon,

The Selectmen being Informed that ye wife of Ephraim Wheeler and one Child was Come to Watertown to the Houfe of Jonas Coollidge and he made Complaint that they were Burdenfom to him it was Agreed that Jonathan Brown Should Apply to Samuel Livermore Esq': for a Warrant to Remove them to Boston where they properly Belonge-at this meeting they being in- formed that m' Thomas Learned had not Removed ye wido Mary Maddox to his Houfe it was agreed that all things Confidered it would be best for her to Remain at m' Nathan Coollidges if he will keep her at the Same price he did the last year
At a Meeting of ye Selectmen at the Houfe of Jonathan Brown on Tuesday ye 16th Day of may Anno: Domini 1769
They haveing Received a Precept from ye Sheriff of ye County of middx Requiring them to afsemble ye Inhabitants of Water- town to Choofe a Suitable perfon or perfons to Reprefent them in a Great & General Court or afsembly appointed to be Convened held and kept for his Majesty's Service at the Court Houfe in Boston on the thirty first day of this prefent month of may at 9 of the Clock in ye morning - In observance whereof they agreed to have a publick Town-meeting at ye publick Meeting houfe on the 22" Day of may Initant at two of ye Clock in the afternoon for ye Choice of a Reprefentative and ordered the Clerk to Jisue out Warrants to ye Several Conftables to warn ye In- habitants who are Quallified to Vote in ye Choice of a Repre- fentative to meet at time & place before mentioned

They being Informed that Ruth Maddox was at m' Tufts's in Charlstown and is in Such Circumftances that he is Determined to bring her emediatly to Watertown

Edward Richardfon on the 29th Day of November Anno: Domini 1769 They being Informed that the wido Mary Maddox was Dead they Agreed that her Funeral Should be the next Day and that m' Mofes Stone Should provide Eleven pair of Gloves for men & three pair for women and that the Bell Should Tolled and m Storer be Defired to attend, and m' Mofes Stone agreed to provide Said things at the Charge of the Town

at this meeting m' Jonas Barnard being prefent he Informed ye Selectmen that he did not chufe to keep Ruth Maddox any Longer and that he Expected to have five Shillings and four pence and her labour for her keeping four weeks - and m' Daniel Bond being prefent agreed to take her four weeks more at the Rate of one Shilling Pr week the time to begin ye thirteenth day of this prefent month
