They ordered the Clerk to Issue out Warrants to the Several Constables to Warn the Inhabitants to Watertown Quallified According to the Con- stitution to Vote in the Choice of Governor Lt Governor & Senators to afsemble at the meeting Houfe on the first monday in April Next at two O Clock in the afternoon for that Purpofe. and also to Warn the Inhabitants Quallified to Vote in town affairs to meet at the Same place on the Same day at three O Clock afternoon to act on the following Articles (Viz) First to Choofe a Moderator of the Meeting. --- - (2) To hear the accounts of thofe perfons the town is Indebted to and grant money to pay the Same.


(3) To grant money to repair the Great Bridge and act any thing Relating thereto they Judge Necefsary (4) To País upon a list of Juriors prepared by ye Selectmen to be laid before the town. (5) to Hear the Reports of any Committees and act thereon as they think best. - (6) To know the mind of the town whether they will give any Directions to the Town Treafur- er refpecting the Issueing town orders for the payment of Debts, and act any thing Refpecting the Same they think best. (7) To know if the town will Accept of the Pew that was Sold to m' John Draper. & if So make Provifion for Paying the Prime Cost agreable to the Vote of the town. and to do any thing relating to that. or any other Pew that belongs to the town as they Judge best, - (8) To Choofe any other town officers in the Room of any that refufe to Serve. Wharf in Cambridge to Capt. Mofes Coollidge for one year be- gining the first Day of this month for which he is to pay eighteen fhilling on or before the Expiration of the Said term. They agreed to call a meeting of the Selectmen of the three towns Concerned in the Support of the Great Bridge over the River, to be at mrs Coollidges on the twelfth day of may Next at two O Clock afternoon to view the Bridge and Agree upon what repairs Should be made and Directed the Clerk to Notify the Selectmen of Weston & Waltham thereof.


At this meeting John Tainter apply'd to the Selectmen to have his tax's abated in m' Richard Clarks lists, and agreed to put what Real Estate he had into the Hands of the Selectmen to be under their care, and gave the town a Deed of his Houfe and Land, upon which the Selectmen in behalf of the town made & Signed the following agreement (Viz)


The Inhabitants of the town of Watertown having this day by their Selectmen, Agreed to Pay to m' Richard Clark Collector of Tax's the Sum of Five pounds two fhillings and three pence three farthings for Rates due him from John Tainter of Said Water- town and the Said John Tainter for the Same Consideration con- veyed to the Inhabitants [ of ] Said Town of Watertown half an Acre of Land in Said Watertown with a Houfe thereon as P Deed of even Date with these Presents, The Said Selectmen for and in behalf of Said Inhabitants hereby agree to leafe to Said Tainter the Same Houfe and land annually and every year During the Natural life of Said Tainter, he paying the Sum of Six Shillings Pr year for the present and the tax's annually, and also any further Sum the Said Town & Tainter Shall Agree upon yearly, and its further agree yt. at the Deceafe of Said Tainter the Said Inhabitants Shall Convey Said Premifses to the Heirs of Said Tainter they paying Said Consideration Sum and Interest, & also Such further Sum as the Said Town may Advance Said Tainter During his life.

At a Meeting of the Selectmen of Watertown, Weston, & Wal- tham, for the Purpose of Considering what repairs are Necessary to be made to the Great Bridge over Charles-River in Said Town of Watertown.


Voted & Considered that it was Necessary to repair the Same, and that it be don as follows (Viz)


The middle Pier be lefsened in its Width eight or ten feet at the directi [on of] the Committee to be Chofen for that Purpofe, the Butments to be rai[sed] and the Bridge to be raifed as high as the Gallows Pier and the wh [ole] to be performed agreable to the direction of Said Committee


Voted That the Third and North pier, be repaired by Said Com- mittee at their discretion, without rebuilding the Butments. - Voted to appoint a Committee to perform the Above Service.


Voted that m' David Sanger, M' Thaddeus Spring, & M' : William Wellington be Said Committee, And that they procure the Meterials and Afsiftance for that Purpofe, and agree upon the Prices upon the Credit of the three Towns

They Adjusted the Charge that had arifen for the repairs of the Great-Bridge over Charles River in Watertown Since the last adjustment which was on the 25th- Day of February 1788. The whole charge being £ 49"9"6. of which Sum.
