Plighting our faith & Sacred Honour that we would Support with our lives & Fortunes the Independancy of the united States of America, and also Confidering the great Depreciation of our currency (which Necessarily emitted by Congrefs, for the Exprefs purpofe of procuring to us and our Posterity peace liberty & Safty) Occationed by the enormous rife of every article of Confumtion both foreign & Domistick the rife of which is princeple to be attributed to those enimies of our Country who have Monop- olized the Same, for the Preventing of which abuses ( and in order to do Justice to those Sons of of Freedom who have nobly dar'd to face our Enemy in the field, and who for the Sake of their Posterity, & that they might again pertake of the Blefsings of Citizens have for a time put on the armour of war & become Soldiers) many of the Capitol Towns of ye united States have been adopting modes of economy and Regulating the prices of many Articles of life both Forign & Domiftick, which will have a Natural tendancy to Appretiate our currency. - Therefore in Conformity to So laudable Examples, & in order to further afsift our Bretheren in the Mercantile Part of the Community in their late worthy Refolutions to lower the Prices of Such foreign Marchandize as may Come to their hands for [ * ]

Do hereby Vote & Refolve (1ly) That we highly approve of the late Refolutions of the Merchants of the Town of Boston else where in this State, and also of the doings of the Said Town of Boston and their purpofal for Calling a Convention at Concord in the County of middlefex on the 14th: Day of this Inftant July for the purpofe of Devifeing ways & means for lowering the prices of all the Necessary articles of life both foreign & Domistick. and for the effectually Appreciating our Currency - (2ly) Voted that the town will by their Committee meet at Con- cord on the 14th of July Inftant for the purpofe afore Said. (3ly) Voted That in order to Cooperate forthwith with the Merchants in their Glorious attempt for the lowering the prices of every Necesary of life, it is Refolved that the produce of our Refpective Farms Shall not advance in price in the least Degree from what they now are upon Condition the late Refolution of the Merchants Refpecting forign Articles fhall Continue but the Same fhall lower in the Same Proportion as forign articles do, and that we will use our utmost exertions yt: the Several Machanicks in this Town lower in Like Proportion - and in order that this Vote be Carried into Compleat Execution, Voted (4ly) That a Committee of Seven be Chofen whofe bufinefs it Shall be to ascertain as Nearly as may be, the prices of forign & Domiftick articles and to Determin what proportion they ought in equity to bear each to the other, and publifh their doings monthly and Cause the Same to be posted up at the Meeting Houfe and other places of Publick Refort in this Town, which Shall Regulate the prices of all the Articles Mentioned in Said Notification for the time therein Specified: and if any perfon or perfons Shall be So lost to all Sence of honour, love of their Country, or their own Interest as to Violate in the least Degree the true Intent & meaning of this Refolution, by Selling their produce at a higher price than Establi.hed by Said Committee from time to [time]

That there may be as great an agreement in the Prices of the Several Articles Fixed, as the Situation of each Town will admit of. on which Agreement we Conceive will depend the greates force for carring the whole into Execution. -
Refolved That whenever the Committe of Infection or either of them Shall arreft any perfon who Shall or may be Suppofed to have Violated the Proceedings of the Convention or of this town in order that ye Suppofed Transgrefsion may be Regularly en- quired into and any Controverfy or Oppofition is made by ye Suppofed Transgresor or in Case he Neglects to give information refpecting his Place of abode, or Refufes to answer to Such Questions as may be asked him by Said Committe or either of them, in every Such Case Said Committe or either of them are to Call upon and order every or any Inhabitant to afsift in Se- cureing the perfon thus offending in order that he be Proceeded with Agreable to the Refolution of Said Convention, - and if any Inhabitant of the town Shall Refufe or Neglect to Aid & afsift Said Committe or either of them, when thus Called upon, he or they Shall Suffer the like Punifhment as is provided for the Committe upon Neglect of their Duty as aforesaid, both of which offences are to Inftantly enquired of by the Town upon Complaint to the Selectmen
