at this Meeting a Petition was Presented to the Selectmen de- sireing them to call a Town Meeting to take into Consideration the circumftances of the Collectors Relating to the State Tax's &c also to Consider of Some Proper & Speedy way of Paying the Revd: m' Eliots Sallary &c


Whereupon they Ordered the Clerk to Issue out Warrants to the Constables to warn the Inhabitants of the Town Quallified to vote in Town affairs to meet at the Meeting on Monday ye 22d. Inftant


at two O Clock afternoon for the following Purpofes. (Viz) First to Choofe a Moderator of ye Meeting

(5th) For the Town to devife Speedy ways & means for the Sea- fonable and more early Payment of the Revd: Mr Eliots Sallary as it from time to time becomes due, and to make Such alterations in the former Contract, or enter into any New Agreement as may be Mutually agreed upon between m': Eliot and the Town, and do and act any thing relating thereto that may be thot : best.

They agreed to meet the Selectmen of Weston & Waltham on the Sixth day of February Next at two O Clock afternoon at the Houfe of Mr Benjamin Bird in Waltham to adjust the Charge that has arifen Since the last Adjustment for the repairs of the Great Bridge over the River in Watertown, and Directed the Town- Clerk to Notify ye Selectmen of Weston & Waltham of the time and Place of Meeting also to Notify the Selectmen of Waltham to Settle the Accounts relating to Abigail Ball at the Same time ; notice has been Sent Accordingly Pr J Brown Town-Clerk At this meeting the Selectmen Signed an order on the treafurer to give M' Amos Bond a Note on Interest for the whole Sum due to him on acctt : of his hireing men to fill up the Army &c -

At a Meeting of the Selectmen at the Houfe of Maj" Mellens on monday the Seventeenth Day of April AD. 1786. They Signed an order on the Town Treafurer to pay the town Creditors above mentioned Except Henry Farringtons which is not as yet allowed


They also Signed an order to Pay to William Hunt Esq': and others a Committee that was Appointed to hire men to fill the Army a Sum Equal to £ 1110"2 : 9 old Currency agreable to the former Order

Then they voted & Granted £ 100 pounds to Support the School, also Voted that a Grammer School be kept the whole year & that it be moved to each School Houfe it equal part of the time and be under the direction of the Selectmen -


Then Voted & Granted £ 90 to Support the poor.
