At a meeting of the Selectmen on Monday ye 11th Day of may AD 1778. at the House of m': Bezaleel Learned They Agreed to have a Toun meeting for the Choice of a Representative or Rep- refentatives at the meeting House on Monday the 18 day of this Inftant month of may at two O:Clock in the afternoon for Sd purpofe. and also an other meeting at three O.Clock the Same day at the Same place to act on the following Articles (Viz) - First to Choofe a Moderator for Said Meeting


(2ly) For the toun to grant money or do any thing they think necessary to Incourage the Raifing men' for Recruiting the army as they think best -


(3ly) For the Toun to Determin what Sums of money Shall be afseft at this time (4ly) For the Toun to make grants to Such men as have been in the Service that were omitted before. if they See fitt- (5) For the town to make provifion for Building a pound and to act thereon as they think best. (6ly) To know if the Town will Call in the money that is due on Bond or note of Hand & appropriate it to Such ufes as they See fitt. (7) To know the minde of the town what Shall be don Relating to the Counterfitt money that has been taken for the Service of the Town and to act thereon as they See fitt. First to Choofe a moderator-


(2ly) To take into Consideration a New Form of Government purpofed by a Convention of ye late General Court ordered to be laid before the Inhabitants for their approbation or Disapproba- tion and to act thereon as they See fit


(3ly) For to know the minde of the town whether they will Sell the two pews that were Referved for ye Singers and to act thereon as they think proper. (4ly) To hear the Report of a Committe Relating to the Raifing men for the Service of the war. and to act thereon as they See proper. At a meeting of ye Selectmen on monday ye day of Oct': 1778 at the House of m' Bezaleel Learned they Agreed to Call a Publick Town meeting to be at the Meeting House on monday the Second day of November Next at one O:Clock afternoon to act on the following Articles (Viz)


(1) To Choofe a moderator (2) To Determin in what manner the minifterial place Shall be Improved, and agree how the Pulpit Shall be Supplyed for the Futer, and Determin whether the town will Defray the Expence of the Funeral of the Late Revd: m' Daniel Adams. to do and act any thing thereon yt the town think proper. (3) To put in their votes for a County Treafurer. (4) to Choofe a Committee to finde what peices of Land Belong to the town that have not been Dispofed of and Determin whether the town will Sell them or any of or take Such Methods as may be thought proper to Remove any Incumbrances from off them, and act thereon as they See fitt- (5) To hear the Reports of any Com-

(7) To know the minde of the town What Sums of money or Whether any that have been hired to Raife Soldiers Shall be afsest at this time, and Determine what Shall be further don thereon -(8) To ye know whether any thing further Shall be don Relating to Schools, < and act thereon as they See fitt-(9) To Grant any further Sum of money for the Support of the poor or other Services as may be thought Proper- (10) To abate any Perfons Rates yt the town may think Proper .- Lastly to act on any other matters as may appear Necefsary at this time as the town may think Proper. The Clerk was Ordered to Issue out Warrants directed to the Constables Requiring them to Warn a Meeting at sd: time & place for the purpofes as abovementioned which was accordingly don
