Then the Committe Appointed to Look out for a Houfe for the poor Reported that they had viewed a Building which did not answer the purpofe --- and they were Directed to look further & Report again at the adjournment


The Committe appointed to hire men to go into the Service in the War Reported that they had hired men for the Service to the amount of £80 : 18 : 2 and the town Voted & Granted the Same Sum.


Jonas White ju' Sent in an Account for bringing Some Powder &c from Boston amounting to the Sum of 12/s which was Voted & Granted.

At a Meeting of the Selectmen on the 17th day of may 1779 at the House of m': Bez !: Learned they agreed to have a Publick town meeting at the meeting House on Monday the 24 day of this Inftant may at two O:Clock afternoon to Choofe one or more Reprefentatives for the year Enfueing and alfo to have an other meeting at three O:Clock afternoon the Same day & at the Same place to tranfact Town affairs &c - (Viz) To Choofe A Mod- erator (2) To Consider a Refolve of the General Court for form- ing a new Constitution or Form of Government, and to act thereon as the town Shall See Proper - (3) To know the minde of the town whether the town will lease out the Fifhery in the town and to act any thing Relating thereto that may be thought Proper.
