He served as se- lectman, moderator, signed the Association Test in 1776 and was a loyal patriot during the Rev. war. When some of his neighbors were worried about the depreciation of Continental money he said, "I am not afraid of Contin- ental money; it will be redeemed in good time,-redeemed or not, no soldier who has fought under George Washington shall go hungry while I have corn to feed him."
