Separate memorial services and a Celebratory Mass for family members in Massachusetts were held on November 2, 1996. Final interment is sched- uled to take place at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Can- cer Society.

Leslie Eugenia Jeanson
A funeral service was con- ducted Wednesday, October 30, 1996 at the Highland Chapel United Methodist Church for Leslie Eugenia Jeanson of Lake Isabella by Pastor Floyd R. Castillo.
Leslie was born on June 12, 1910, to Roy E. Greenlee and Lola Woodall in the town of Leon, West Virginia. She at- tended several colleges and universities including West Vir- ginia University, Morris Harvey College, Columbia University, Ohio State University and Uni- versity of California at Berke- ley. She earned masters de- grees in botany, biology and teaching.
She taught school in West Virginia for 13 years before entering the U.S. Navy in 1942 where she served as a Lieuten- ant in the communications field. She married Hugh Jeanson on December 21, 1946, and was released from the Navy after the birth of their first child in 1948.
Leslie moved to the Los An- geles area and worked substi- tuting and teaching from about 1953 until she came to the Kern River Valley in 1959. She taught at Kern Valley High School until her retirement in 1975.
She was well known as a botanist and knew most of the plants in the Kern Valley. In her home state of West Virginia, -she is credited with discovering a tree that had not yet been found in that state.
Leslie is survived by her two daughters, Ro Silvester of An- chorage, Alaska, and Judith Protiva of Peace Valley, Mis- souri. She is also survived by two brothers, Ken Greenlee of Indiana and Roy Greenlee of St. Louis, Missouri. Her hus- band, Hugh Jeanson, pre-de- ceased her in 1991. There are five grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all of us. Inter- ment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale, Cali- fornia, where she will be laid to rest alongside her late husband.

Vincent Walter Marcy, Jr.
Vincent Walter Marcy, Jr., was born on April 8, 1948, in Los Angeles, California, to Vincent and Lorraine Marcy. He entered into eternal life on Oc- tober 27, 1996, in Bakersfield.
He attended Granada Hills High School, Pierce Junior College and Bakersfield Col- lege. He served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam war. He married Mary Ellen Overman on July 20, 1971 in Burbank, California, and they moved to the Kern River Valley in 1973. He worked with his father at the Vincent W. Marcy Insurance Agency in Mt. Mesa, later pur- chasing it from his father; and in 1987, he and his son Walter, entered into business as All American Mustang Co., also in Mt. Mesa.
Vincent had a wonderful, quiet sense of humor, loved being with and caring for his family. He was always there to help others, preferring to help
them behind the scenes, taking little or no credit for his kind- ness. He loved to mine for gold and was a member of Gold Prospectors Association of America. Vincent was also one of the founders of the Lake Isa- bella Amateur Radio Associa- tion and was very active in the group, as well as a member of the Shelby American Automo- bile Club.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary Ellen; son Vincent Walter Marcy III; daughter Lorraine Ellen Marcy; his mother Lorraine Marcy; uncles Sherwood A. Wagner, Fredrick E. Wagner; mother-in-law Ina Mae Overman; and his beloved Dalmation, Shelby; along with numerous cousins and many friends.
At his request, there will be
no service and in lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to the Kern Valley Ama- teur Radio Association, P.O. Box A.M., Lake Isabella.

Betty Jane Olson
Graveside services were held Friday, November 1, 1996, at 1:00 p.m. for Betty Jane Olson at Kern River Valley Cem- etery. Officiating was Pastor John Carpenter of the Kernville United Methodist Church. Mrs. Olson was born January 21, 1925 in Pennsylvania and passed away October 28, 1996, in Mt. Mesa, California.
She was a resident of the Kern River Valley for seven years. She was very active in the Nazarene Church in Lake Isabella. Mrs. Olson loved trav- eling, camping and fishing. She visited the nursing center and people around the valley. She never knew a stranger. She was a wonderful and loving mother.
Mrs. Olson is survived by her husband Charles of Lake Isa- bella; and her daughers Carol Lawrence of Garden Grove; Barbara Beulke of Chatsworth; Ginny Murray of Santa Clarita; Linda White of Oregon; and Terry White of Alaska. She is also survived by her stepdaugh- ters Patsy Eisenhauer of Ridgecrest and Kathleen Forsythe of North Dakota; her stepson Charles T. Olson of Long Beach; and 13 grandchil- dren.

Katie was born February 2, 1919 in Black Oak, Arkansas, and passed away October 25, 1996, in Mt. Mesa. She moved to Lake Isabella from Para- mount, California, where she lived for many years.
She loved country and west- ern music and spending time with her family. She was a lov- ing mother and grandmother.
Katie is survived by her daughter Judith Swanson of Lake Isabella; and her sons Michael Leach of Lompoc, and Jimmy Leach of City of Orange; and eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Margaret Lillian Carter
Graveside services were held Monday, November 4, 1996, at 2:00 p.m. at Kern River Valley Cemetery for Margaret Lillian Carter. Officiating was Pastor James Lee of the Valley Community Church.
Mrs. Carter was born Sep- tember 22, 1912 in Los Ange- les, California, and passed away on October 30, 1996, in Bakersfield, California. She was a resident of Bodfish and a Kern County resident for 53 years. She was a member of the Single Side Band Club and her ČB handle was "Mom C." She loved to read and crochet and gar- den.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, James and Patsy Carter of Bakers- field; and Donald and Lee Carter of Oregon; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Charles S. Street
Charles Smiley Street of Wednesday, October 30, 1996, Lake Isabella, entered into eter- at 1:00 p.m. at Olive Lawn Me- morial Park in La Mirada, Cali- fornia, for Katie Ree Leach. Officiating was Pastor Paul Washikawa.
nal rest on October 26, 1996, at a Bakersfield hospital at the age of 76. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on October 17, 1920. He served in World War Il in the U.S. Army and was active in the Aleutian Islands Campaign.
He moved to the Kern River Valley in 1975 from Southern California where he had worked for many years for the Herald Examiner. After moving to the lake area, he worked for the Kernville Union School District at Woodrow Wallace in the maintenance department. He retired from there after 11 years of service.
Charles was an avid bowler prior to his illness and he espe- cially enjoyed Francine's Fam- ily Restaurant and considered all the waitresses there his spe- cial friends.
He was a devoted husband and caretaker to his wife Audrey, who predeceased him in January 1995. Charles is survived by his sisters, Anna May Rengers of Bodfish, and Betty Lou Andrews of Hawaii.

Primo Anthony Pazzelli
Primo Pazzelli was born in a village in LeMarche Providence, Italy on September 14, 1910. As a young man, his father, Antonio Pazzelli, went to the United States, worked very hard and then returned to Italy and married Poalina Paccamicco. Antonio Pazzelli and his wife Poalina, along with their two small children, Susie and Primo, immigrated to the United States in 1913 when Primo was three years old. The family eventu- ally settled in Perris Valley, Cali- fornia where they operated a dairy farm. After the farm was sold, the family, which now in- cluded six children, moved to North Hollywood and estab- lished a small retail grocery store and wholesale produce business. Primo attended Van Nuys High School.
In 1938 Primo started work- ing as a laborer for Twentieth Century Fox. He worked hard and soon became a crane and dolly operator (the key grip) for famed lighting director, Leon Shamroy. Primo worked on many films, including "The King and l" and "South Pacific".
In 1956 Primo left the studio, moved to Kernville, and with his wife, Leah, started Primo's Deli. Primo and Leah divorced in 1967 and both agreed to sell the business in 1972. During his first years in Kernville, Primo worked hard to establish the Kern River Golf course, and he is a charter member of the Men's Club.
Primo enjoyed retirement. At last he had time to fish and golf and tend to his treasured gar- den. On October 13, 1972, he married Beth Wood of Kern- ville. They enjoyed traveling and entertaining friends and family at their home in Kernville.
Primo Pazzelli died Novem- ber 5, 1996. He was preceded in death by his parents Poalina and Antonio Pazzelli and his sister, Susie Pantalone. He is survived by his wife, Beth; brother, Louis Pazzelli and wife, Irene; sister, Rose Fontanella and husband, Steve; sister, Yola Bruno and husband, Charles, sister, Dolly Magliocco and husband, George and many nieces and nephews.

Monty W. Bencoma
At his request, no services will be held for Monty Williiam Bencoma who entered eternal rest on October 30, 1996, at a Bakersfield hospital after a lengthy battle with heart dis- ease.
Monty was born in Oakland, California, on April 3, 1941 to Raymond and Grace Bencoma and moved to the Kern River area as an infant where his father was working in the log- ging industry. It was as a small child he learned the logging
business and his appreciation of the great outdoors. Monty worked in the logging business for Sierra Forest Logging Com- pany for 35 years. He loved his work so much his family con- sidered it his hobby.
He passed on to his children his love for camping, fishing, hunting and knowledge of the great outdoors. He enjoyed his children and was a great father to them.
Monty had a great sense of humor and loved to joke with everyone. He loved giving people nicknames, often nick- naming nieces and nephews even before they were born. He also was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed help. His sense of hu- mor endeared him to anyone who knew him and he will be remembered with fondness by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Marie; daughters Monica Kleeman, Montana Bencoma, Michelle Bencoma, all of Wel- don; son Timothy Bencoma of Onyx; and nine-month-old grandson, Cole. James Lloyd Moore
A graveside service was held Friday, November 8 at Kern River Cemetery for James Lloyd Moore, 69, who entered eter- nal life at his residence in Lake Isabella on November 4, 1996. Pastor David Snow of the First Baptist Church in Lake Isabella
officiated.
James was born in Bristow, Oklahoma on February 14, 1927 to Oscar and Mildred Moore. He received all of his schooling in Oklahoma and af- ter moving to California, resided in Santa Paula for 35 years. He married Genevieve Fullerton on January 23, 1971 in Las Vegas and they moved to the Lake area. They spent 3 years in the Kernville area, and were own- ers of the McCambridge Lodge. They then returned to Okla- homa, settling in Shawnee and about five years ago returned to the Kern River Valley area. James worked for Safeway Food Stores as a meat cutter for 25 years. He was a great lover of the outdoors and loved to attend rodeos.
He is survived by his wife Genevieve of Lake Isabella, his mother Mildred Moore, brother Joe Moore of Phoenix, Arizona, and son Roger Dean Polly of Ventura, daughters Janice Fay Hawkins of Ventura, Tammy Moore of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Valerie Scott, Meeker, Oklahoma.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Robert was born in Los An- geles, California on July 8, 1950 to Hubert Clayton and Reta Mae Tucker. He received his school- ing in Downey, graduating from Downey High School. After graduation he entered the U.S. Navy, serving on the U.S.S. Ranger. After leaving the Navy he attended school in Long Beach, taking courses in elec- tronics. He then became a technican, specializing in Copy Machines.
Robert has been a resident of the Kern Valley for ten years and we remember him as the owner of R.C. Copiers. He op- erated his business until his illness made it necessary for him to remain at home.
Robert is survived by his grandmother, Mary Klatt of Lake Isabella, his wife Sharon, his two daughters Sandy Tucker of Sacramento, Mary Ann Tucker of Marysville and two sons Jonathan Gordon and Zachary Gordon of Bodfish, his brother William Klatt who lives in Kan- sas and an aunt, Eileen Hale of Florida. His parents preceded him in death.

Jacob Robert Borman (Jake)

Valley Cemetery. Mr. Borman was born November 6, 1916 in Barns, Kansas and passed away November 5, 1996 in Mt. Mesa, California.
He loved hunting and fish- ing and sports and his Angels team. He was a wonderful neighbor and friend. He en- joyed hearing the children in the neighborhood play. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Hazel and his brothers, Henry Borman of Kansas and Ed- ward Borman of Indiana. His sisters, Ester Ammerman of New Jersey and Freda Osgood of Los Angeles, Ruth Nations of Lake Isabella, Gertrude Richardson of Fallbrook, Stella Austin of Kansas, Martha Anderson of Kansas, and sis- ter-in-law and husband, Alma and Edward Baxter of Mission Viejo, California, and many nieces and nephews. Private arrangements were made for Roy V. Brown who passed away November 6, 1996 in Mt. Mesa. Mr. Brown was born April 8, 1910 in Randolf, Texas and has been a resident of the Kern River Valley for the past 20 years. He loved to fish, and said that's why he moved here. He was preceded in death by his wife Virble. He is survived by his son Ken Brown of Amarillo, Texas and daughter Dolores Stone of Plano, Texas, and 7 grandchildren and 7 great- grandchildren.

George Mathas Stewart
Visitation was held Saturday, November 23, 1996, at 4 to 8 p.m., for George Mathas Stewart, age 68. Funeral ser- vices were held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, 1996, at Jones Mortuary in Lakeport, California. Reverend Gerald Hosman officiated. Burial fol- lowed at Kelseyville Cemetery in Kelseyville, California, at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 1996.
George was born August 6, 1928, in Story, Arkansas, and passed away at his home of 22 years in Kelseyville on Novem- ber 19, 1996. Prior to living in Kelseyville, he resided for 21 years in Harbor City, Califor- nia. He was employed for 27 years at Gallup Plumbing.
He enjoyed traveling and fishing. George was a member of Q.R.A. Travel Club and the Laborer's Union Local #802 in Willmington, California for 27 years.
George is survived by his wife, Roberta (Bertie) Stewart of Kelseyville, California; sons and daughters-in-law: Bruce
and Leslie Stewart of Lake Isa- bella, California; Jerry and Nancee Stewart of Kernville, California; Bart and Cindy Stewart of Leggett, California; and Barry and Pat Kimberly of Weldon, California; daughters and sons-in-law: Brenda and Kenneth Erhardt also of Wel- don; Bea and Steve Sims of San Ramon, California; Linda and Buddy Franklin of Clearlake, California; and Sharon and Fred Daniels of Brush Prairie, Washington. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law: J.C. and Katherine Stewart of Fallbrook, California; and Bob and Pat Stewart, also of Fallbrook; sis- ters and brothers-in-law: Lena and Les Haselwood, Lona Hoover, Luna Allen, all of Fallbrook; and Laverne and George Freeman of Ivanhoe, Texas. Daniel H. Larsen
Daniel H. Larsen passed away at his home in Squirrel Valley at 11:30 a.m., Novem- ber 16, 1996. He was born October 30, 1914 in San Fran- cisco, California, where he had his schooling. During World War Il, he served in the Merchant Marines aboard an aircraft car- rier as a fireman in the South Seas.
He moved to Squirrel Valley in 1983, where he built a home. He was a member of the Ma- sonic Lodge for 46 years, first joining in Van Nuys, later trans- ferring to Lodge No. 827 in Kernville. He was also a mem- ber of the Loyal Order of Moose No. 498, in Lake Isabella. He attended the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall, Lake Isabella.
Daniel is survived by his be- loved Bertha and his only son, John Larsen, of San Francisco. The deceased requested no services. Cremation was by the Neptune Society in Fresno.

Glenn Edward (Bud) Malling
Glenn Edward (Bud) Malling was born in Seattle, Washing- ton, on August 23, 1920. He entered eternal rest on Novem- ber 15, 1996, at San Joaquin Hospital in Bakersfield, at the age of 76.
Bud received his ,schooling in Seattle and moved to Califor- nia where he worked as a Shipfitters helper before enter- ing the U.S. Army to serve in World War II. He served in the Northern Solomons and the Asian Pacific. After leaving the service, he worked as a ma- chinist.
He was a resident of the lake area for 15 years, living in Bod- fish.
Bud never married and his parents and only brother pre- ceded him in death. However, he leaves close friends, Ottis Simmons, Robert Mott, and Marge and George McCluskey, all of Bodfish. At his request, no services will be held and inurnment will be at Riverside National Cemetery.

Luther Floyd Sanger
Memorial services will be held at a later date for Luther Floyd Sanger of Lake Isabella. Luther was born September 29, 1924, in Enid, Oklahoma, and passed away in a local conva- lescent hospital on November 22, 1996. He was 72 years old.
Luther was a retired truck driver and a 25 year resident of the Kern River Valley.
"He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Ruth N. Sanger in 1992.
Survivors include his step- daughter, Roberta Searl of Tujunga; three grandchildren,. "Michael R. Martin, David M. Martin and Michelle M. Wieczorek and his sister, Irene Wysong of Woodward, Okla- homa.

Dolores Moore- Weisenberg
A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Novem- ber 22, 1996, for Dolores Moore-Weisenberg. Services were held at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Glendale, California, with Reverend Shay officiating. Interment followed at Murmuring Trees Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, California.
Dolores was born June 30, 1914, in Pierz, Minnesota, and passed away November 17, 1996, in Glendale, California. She was a former resident of Wofford Heights, as well as Hemet, California.

James D. Linton
James D. Linton, age 74, of Bruneau, died Thursday, No- vember 14, 1996, at a military base hospital.
No local services will be held. Funeral services were held Sunday, November 17, 1996, at the Church of Christ in Ringling, Oklahoma. Burial fol- lowed at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Local arrangements were under the direction of Summers Funeral Homes, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.
James was born September 16, 1922, in Coalgate, Okla- homa, the son of Duffy and Ada Strickland Linton.
He worked as a rancher and owned and operated Western Store in Lake Isabella, Califor- nia, selling clothing, feed and vet supplies. He shod horses for the Cavalry, and retired in 1971 as a Lake Patrol Officer from the Lake Isabella Police Department.
James was a World War II veteran. He moved to Bruneau, four years ago from DeKalb, Texas.
He enjoyed breaking horses, hunting and raising game chick- ens.
James is survived by his wife, Roxie Linton of Bruneau; his daughter, Gerrie Alsip and her husband, Chris, of Grand View; one brother, Carol Linton; three sisters, Lillian Lawrence, Ruth Price and Lora Skinner, all of Oklahoma; two grandchildren and one great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both parents.

Travis Gail Jordan
Travis Gail Jordan entered eternal life on November 27, 1996, at Kern Valley Hospital. Travis was born in Hamburg, Arkansas, on August 17, 1923, to Walter and Vera Jordan. He attended grade school in Ar- kansas, moved to California and graduated from Lincoln High School in Lincoln Heights.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After the war, Travis worked for Dodge Trophy Company and while there, he met Mary Murray, a lovely Scottish lassie and they were married on November 22, 1950. He then began a 30 year career with the County of Los Angeles as a sheet metal worker.
Travis was a member of the local Moose Lodge, loved to fish and was a devoted Chris- tian. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Isabella, where services were held on Tuesday, December 2, 1996, by Pastor David Snow.
He was also a loving father and husband. Travis is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary; and son, Mark Jordan, of Lake Isabella. He will be greatly missed.

Theron Reid Cox
Services were held on Wednesday, November 27, 1996, at the First Baptist Church of Lake Isabella for Theron Reid Cox who passed away at his home in Weldon on the morn- ing of November 24, 1996. Pas- tor David Snow officiated.
He was born in Pontotoc, Mississippi, on November 16, 1912. He received his early schooling in Tupelo, and has: lived in many areas of the U.S. He married Minnie Mae Harris on February 27, 1933 in Blythesville, Arkansas and they lived for 37 years in Kingsburg, California, where he worked for Del Monte Foods Co.
After living in several areas, he found the lake area to be the best and was happiest in the lake area. He particularly en- joyed walking on the vacant land near his home with his two dogs, Nick and Bobby, and until his health prevented him. He enjoyed working on old auto- mobile engines. One of his great joys, were his grandchildren.
