A family memorial service will be held at Hillcrest Memo- rial Park June 21 at 10 a.m. for Wendy Jill Davidson, 52, of Lake Isabella. Mrs. Davidson passed away June 11, 1999.
Mrs. Davidson was born in Oakland May 11, 1947 and was a homemaker.

Leslie Chester Isaacs
Memorial services were held Friday June 11, 1999 at 11 a.m. at Valley Mortuary Chapel for Leslie Chester Isaacs. Offi- ciating was Pastor Bert Simp- son of the Mt. View Southern Baptist Church.
Mr. Isaacs was born Oct. 16, 1914 in Bernie, Mo. and passed away on June 4, 1999 in Mountain Mesa. He built drill- ing rigs for many years and moved to Alaska and worked in the steel industry there until he moved to the Kern River Valley in 1956. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and golfing.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Cynthia Isaacs of Lake Isabella; daughter and son-in-law Janet and Tom Masters of Porterville; brother and sister-in-law Hurbert and Mable Isaacs of Bakersfield; four grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; one great- great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
Though gone from sight, to memory dear.

Lloyd Espy High
Private arrangements were made for Lloyd Espy High who passed away on June 5, 1999 at his residence in Weldon af- ter a long illness. Mr. High was born Sept. 7, 1911 in Galesburg, Ill., and served as a chief engineer with the Mer- chant Marines for 30 years, before retiring and moving to the Kern River Valley in 1971.
He was an avid golfer and he enjoyed traveling with his wife.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Eva High; daughter and son-in-law Violet and Bob Cassey of Weldon; daughter Nancy Lee Yeomans of Mon- tana and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren; sisters Grace Howe, Esther Edmondson and Leona Tate.

Luci Anderton
In loving memory of Luci Anderton, born March 23, 1934 in Jamestown, Kan., died May 20, 1999 in Bakersfield of res- piratory failure and cancer. Luci lived in the Havilah area for nine years, but they were very busy and full years.
She is missed by family; hus- band Larry; sons Steve, Rick and Mike ;- granddaughter Danielle; sisters Joann, Sharon of Kansas and Brother Jim of Missouri.
Also missed by her many friends of this valley who cel- ebrated the life and music of Luci with a memorial service and musical tribute at Weldon United Methodist Church on June 4. The family thanks all who came and shared in this celebration.

Clyde Wilburt Kelley
Clyde Wilburt Kelley was born on August 4, 1921 in Hot Springs, Ark. He was the youngest of nine children. He had three older brothers and five older sisters. Clyde grew up and worked on a farm. later he enlisted in and worked for the WPA (which was a pro- gram to put people to work during the Depression build- ing roads.and other general welfare projects). Clyde was assigned to work in Wyoming during the winter months. On Feb. 7, 1942 he met and mar- ried the love of his life, Virginia Ruth Wills. Then, during WWII, he served his country as a medic in the U.S. Army.
Together, through good times and hardships, they built a home in Lynwood, Calif., and raised two children. Clyde was always a hard worker. He was a heavy equipment operator until his retirement from the Robert E. McKee Construc- tion Company in 1977. He was an active member of the union for 53 years.
The family then moved to Kernville and became active in the Kern River Valley Histori- cal Society where he held a variety of offices including president. Clyde helped to or- ganize the antique and col- lectable shows and, with his wife and two of her sisters, made three trips around the United States. Clyde and Vir- ginia also traveled up to Alaska and over to Hawaii. Clyde passed away on June 11, 1999 in Lake Isabella at the age of 77.
Clyde is survived by his wife of 57 years, Virginia W. Kelley | of Kernville; one sister, Daisy Curtis of Bodfish; one brother, · Roy Kelley of Redlands; one daughter, Claudia and her hus- band, John Novasel of Kern- ville; one son, Clyde and his wife Susan Kelley of Bodfish; three grandchildren, Gregg Jelkin, April and Allyson Kelley; three great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Arrangments made by Val- ley Mortuary. Services were held June 19, 1999 at 11 a.m. at the Valley Mortuary Chapel and interment at the Kern River Valley Cemetery in Wofford Heights.

Ronald Terry Thorne of Havilah, age 39, born June 17, 1959, passed away June 10, 1999. He is survived by his wife Nancy; mother Nicota; fa- ther Robert; and brothers Bob and Brian; sister Debbie and daughter Jamie.
Marilyn J. Emmons
Marilyn Emmons was born on November 7, 1933 and passed away on June 10, 1999 in her home in Lake Isabella.
She is survived by her hus- band of 43 years, Dale Emmons; two daughters, Sherrie Mazzarini Edwards, Donna and husband Edward Heitman; two sons, Barry Emmons and Kenneth Emmon; eleven grandchildren, Shannon, Brian and Staci Neely, David and Zachary Heitman, Robert Brennand, Erik and wife Heidi Brennand; Marc and wife Lori Mazzarini; Daniel Edwards, Tori and Katarina Emmons; one great- grandchild, Leanna Mazzarini; family members Gail Marquez, Sarah and Nicholas Lonero.

Bernice Lucille Hurty
Services were held at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church of Lake Isabella, June 19, 1999 at 2:30 p.m. for Bernice Hurty of Bodfish. Offi- ciating were Pastors Louis Fabricius and James Lee.
Bernice Lucille Hurty was born October 12, 1913 at Luverne, Minn. and passed away on June 16, 1999 at the Kern Valley Hospital in Moun- tain Mesa.
During Bernice's life she was a homemaker, a clerk for the J.C. Penney Company and was employed by the school districts in Chatsworth and Reseda, Calif. During the past 24 years she was very active in the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church of Lake Isa- bella where she served as trea- surer, belonged to the Dorcas Society, and a special love of hers was chairing the Altar Guild. Bernice also enjoyed the fellowship and talent of other amateur organists.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents George and Clara Allen; two brothers, Roger and Oliver Allen; one sister, Elizabeth Allen and her first husband, Otto Hinz.
Bernice is survived by ner loving husband of 25 years, Earl Hurty of Bodfish; daugh- ters Beverly Kapsch and her husband Leroy of Sioux Falls, S.D .; Charleen Van Sickle and her husband, Bob of Ft. Collins Colo .; one son, Charles Hinz and hs wife Patsy of Sun City, Calif .; step-daughters Earlene Martinez of Aromas, Calif. and Christine Casciola and her husband, Phil of Mercerville, N.J .; one sister, Marjorie Kendall and her husband, John of Shorewood, Ill .; 13 grand- children; 21 great-grandchil- dren; two step-granddaugh- ters; and neices, nephews and other relatives.

Belle Layhon
Graveside services were held Wednesday June 16, 1999 at 10 a.m. at Kern River Valley Cemetery for Belle Layhon, who passed away on June 14, 1999 at her home in Southlake. Belle was born January 31, 1926 in Medina, Tex., and moved to the Kern River Valley in 1982. She worked as a cook for the schools, both in Los Angeles and the Kernville School Dis- trict for over 20 years. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and going to Las Vegas and Laughlin.
She is survived by her hus- band of 39 years, Alex Layhon of Southlake; son and daugh- ter-in-law Jesse and Gloria Baker of Los Angeles; daugh- ter Floran Williams of Lake Elsinore; two brothers, Carl Irby of Newport, Ore., and Donald and Carol Irby of Newport, Ore., and numerous grandchil- dren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral service were held June 29, 1999 at 12 p.m. at Eternal Valley Memorial Park in Newhall for Louise Eva Markham. Officiating was Pas- tor Preston North of the Mt. View Southern Baptist Church.
Mrs. Markham was born December 14, 1922 in Nacogdoches, Tex. She worked at St. Joseph Hospital for 27 years as a Nursing Co- ordinator, and has lived in the Kem River Valley for 21 years. She enjoyed cooking for all her family and was a member of the Good Sam Club.
She is survived by her hus- band of 61 years, Ray Markham; her daughter and son-in-law Shirley Ann and Jack Whitbeck of Santa Clarita, two granddaughters, Pamela Sue and Lori Lee Whitbeck and great-grandson; Johnathen and Jack Hayes; also a sister and brother-in- law Opal and Ken Lee of Havasu City, Ariz., and brother David Goodman of Idaho.

Beatrice Golleher went home to her Lord and Saviour on June 19,1999. Bea was born Dec. 10, 1924 in Texas. Bea married W.G. Golleher on June 14, 1940. She was pre-
ceded in death by a daughter Willeen Gardell.
Survivors are her husband, W.G. Golleher; daughter, Creta Ostashay of Arizona; son, Joel Randy and wife of Ne- vada; grandsons, Edward Ostashay Ill of San Dimas and Greg Ostashay of Ft. Bragg, Calif .; granddaughter Kathleen Golleher of Minden, Nev .; three greatgrandchildren and many loved friends. Bea loved her family and friends, and held a love for the Lord. Yunis Barakat (John) Omari, Jr.
Jedidiah-2 Samuel 12:25 John was born Sept. 22, 1965 and died June 19, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Mia; mother, children, step- children, half-sisters, aunts, uncles, and cousins - here and abroad.
John was a writer. His new novel will be out this fall.
George Arthur Dickinson
George Arthur Dickinson, long-time resident of Wofford Heights, died June 22, 1999 after an eight-month illness. he was born on March 16th, 1923.
He is survived by his daugh- ter Terry Lynn Lord of Tor- rance; grandson Dakota Lord; daughter Kathy Dickinson of Wofford Heights; grandson William Record; great-grand- daughter Samantha Catlyn; and companion of ten years Frances Townsend living in Weldon.
He was preceded in death by his wife Frances Dickinson in 1988, his father Jesse Butcher in 1989 and his mother in 1974; step-mother Marie Butcher in 1990. His step-fa- ther James Dickinson died in 1976. A younger brother, Arthur, died in infancy in 1928.
George was a survivor of the Pearl Harbor attack and spent five years in the South Pacific serving in the U.S.
Army. He retired from his civil service job in San Diego after 30 years of employment. He and his wife moved to Wofford Heights in 1974. George was a member of the local VFW and Moose. he worked sev- eral years for the Kern County Sheriff's Department patroling the areas around Weldon and Onyx. He enjoyed motor- cycles, his sports car, going out to eat at the Moose and time with his companion, Frances.
Visitation was on Saturday June 26, 1999 at Valley Mortu- ary and interment was with his wife at the cemetery in Wof- ford Heights.

Lottie was born June 15, 1906 in Dekalb, Tex. and passed away on June 26, 1999 in Mountain mesa. She was 93 years old. She has been a resi- dent of the Valley for 13 years and a member of the Eagles and the Moose. She enjoyed fishing around the lake.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William and Ramadena Fussell of Marietta, Okla., and her grand- son Terry Haney of Lake Isa- bella and sister Exie Fricks of Lake Isabella.

Private funeral arrange- ments ·were made for Henry Yurk who passed away on July 1, 1999 in Mountain Mesa.
Mr. Yurk was born Decem- ber 22, 1912 in Sugar city, Color. He worked for Warren Automotive for 45 years be- fore retiring and moving to the Kern River Valley in 1969. He cam to the valley as a part- time resident and in 1978 moved here from Maywood, Calif. He was a member of the Elks.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Virginia in January 1997.
He is survived by Betty Igo, Larry McCurtain and a sister, Helen Terry of Colo .; two broth- ers, Roland YHork of Ore., and Loyd York of Colo .; sister-in- law. Winford Vento of Ore .;
and nephew and neice Billie and Kara York; also a great friend Ted Mathar and of course his Poodle, Amy.

Ronald Frank Flicker Sr.
Funeral arrangements were made for Ronald Frank Flicker, Sr. who passed away on Thurs- day, July 1, 1999 in Mountain Mesa.
Mr. Flicker was born April 8, 1929 in Pierz, Minn. He retired from the City of Glendale and moved here to the Kern River Valley five years ago. He en- joyed fishing and gardening and fixing things. He was al- ways helping other people.
Funeral services will be held at Simonet Funeral Home in Stillwater, Minn. and burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in Pierz, Minn. A memorial mass will be held on July 9, 1999 at 5 p.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church in Wofford Heights.
Ronald is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Debra Flicker of Long Beach; daughters, Diana and Anthony Trahan, Donna Rosewicz, Denise and Bob Gunderson and Debbie and Joe Peltier; 13 grandchildren; long time companion, Stella Delgado, and his sister Laura Grundhofer.

Lyle Harrison Hunter
Lyle Harrison Hunter, age 79, of Miles City, Mont., passed away on Saturday, July 3, 1999 at the Holy Rosary Health Cen- ter in Miles City.
Lyle was born on May 22, 1920, in Los Angeles; the son of Stanley James and Margarite (Stasake) Hunter. He attended school in Califor- nia and Oregon until he joined the U.S. Army in 1941, and served until his honorable dis- charge in 1945. Lyle returned to California and went to work for the Richfield Oil Company, which later became Atlantic Richfield.

On July 28, 1946, Lyle and Jean Traynor were united in marriage in Long Beach. Lyle retired in 1980 after 33 years of service for the Atlantic Richfield Company. After his retirement, Lyle and Jean trav- eled for several years, resid- ing in Kernville and Bakers- field until making Miles City, Mont. their home. Lyle loved hunting, fishing and working in his garden.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Jean, of Miles City, Mont .; two sons Jim Hunter, also of Miles City, and Glenn Hunter, of Bakersfield; daughter, Eileen Sheets, of Byers, Colo., brother, Gordon Hunter, of Carson City, Nev .; sister, Alice Upshaw, of Oregon; six grand- children and three great-grand- children. He was preceded in death by his parents, six broth- ers and sisters.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 9, 1999 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City with Pastor Jim Sheets officiating. Interment followed in the Veterans Section in the Custer County Cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of arrangements.

Jose Sanchez Ocampo
Jose Sanchez Ocampo passed away in his Woodland, CA, residence Friday night. Mr. Ocampo was born March 15, 1926 in Santa Cruz, Jalisco, Mexico, and was 73 years of age. He was a resident of Woodland for the last 47 years and had retired as a laborer from Teichert Construction Co. where he worked for 26 years. He was a member of Local #185 of the Labors Union.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha Ocampo, of Woodland; son Juan Jose Ocampo and his wife Susana of Santa Cruz, Jalisco, Mexico; son Jose Jamime Ocampo and his wife Carrie of Woodland; son Cesar Daniel Ocampo of Kernville; daughters Claudia Annette Ocampo and Cristela Ocampo, Both of Woodland. Grandchil- dren include Jose Jamie , phis, Tenn. Ocampo G., Juan Jose Ocampo G., Jose Alfonso Ocampo G., Susana Cristela Ocampo G., and Hector Daniel Ocampo G., all for Santa Cruz Jalisco, Mexico and one great- grandchild, Maria de Los Angles Ocampo, also of Santa Cruz, Jalisco, Mexico.
A rosary was said at McNary's Chapel in Woodland . on Tuesday at 7 p.m. and mass was held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph's Cem- etery Mausoleum in Woodland. Entombment will be in St. Joseph's Mausoleum.

She also worked at the Dam Korner for many years before she be- came ill. She enjoyed bowling, drawing and most of all color- ing and playing with her grand- children. She is preceded in death by her daughter Leigh Ann Luker in 1975.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 41 years, Bill Luker of Lake Isabella; son and daughter-in-law Stephen and Virginia Luker of Weldon; son, Michael Luker; daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Wayne Trusty of Lake Isabella; and daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and David Adams of Wofford Heights; brother Lavelle Harrington of Arizona; sisters Ima Jean Elam of Texas; Nettie Mae Brown of Kansas and Carolyn Louies Jacks of Mississippi; and 11 grandchildren.

Nils B. Oberg
* A memorial service was held July 17, 1999 at Kernville United Methodist Church for Nils B. Oberg. The service was officiated by Pastor John Car- penter, with Pastor Chuck White and Pastor Floyd Castillo.
Nils Oberg was born in Nils was preceded in death by his son, Bryan Oberg; his brother Alf Oberg; his sister Iris Dunlap Behymer; and his Gunnam, Sweden on October 24, 1924 and went home to be with the Lord on July 12, 1999. He immigrated to the United States with his parents in 1928. . parents Seth and Edla Oberg. His life centered around his family, church and work. Nils was married to his wife June for fifty-two years and raised two children, Bryan and Alice. During those years the family always had a lot of property and boats, so that Nils could enjoy his two favorite hobbies of horseback riding and fish- ing.
These hobbies filled the many leisure hours for Niles and his family after work and on weekends. Nils worked for Oberg Construction Corpora- tion his entire working life. The business was originally started by his father and uncle. In later years Nils became president of the company and continued in that position until the busi- ness was sold in 1984.
Nils and his wife June moved to the Kern River Valley in 1985. They began a construc- tion business called Grebo Corporation and the needle- work shop called Creative Hands with their children. It was during these years that horses were not a part of his life. However, there was more fishing.
Nils was a very caring man who had a strong and deep Christian faith. God gave Nils a beautiful tenor voice, which he used in service to his Lord. Through the years it gave much pleasure to all who heard him sing because his voice and face reflected his deep faith in his Savior. His family and friends will miss him.
Nils is survived by his wife June of Wofford Heights; his daughter Rev. Alice Oberg of Greenville, Calif .; daughter-in- law Karen Oberg of Wofford Heights; granddaughter Kim Kleidosty of Wofford Heights; grandson Kirk Oberg and wife Kim of Bakersfield; great- grandchildren Joshua and Joey Kleidosty of Wofford Heights; Bryan, Kenneth and Rebecca Oberg of Bakersfield. He is also survived by his sis- ters Aina Thomas of Gardnerville, Nev. and Mary Louise Brown and husband Neale of Camarillo; his brother Carl Oberg and wife Marlene of Chatsworth; as well as many neices, nephews and cousins.
