favorite time of year was the springtime. She was a tre- mendous gardener. But most importantly, Evelyn was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She dearly loved her family and always stood by them. Along with her family, she also had a wonderful loving relation- ship with her dogs and espe- cially her pig. Sadly, after 47 years of marriage to her ador- ing husband Wendell, he passed away in the evening hours of Sept. 15, 1998. Evelyn stayed strong for her family and continued on bravely. Unfortunately, she too fell ill and she passed away on March 14, 2002. Graveside funeral services were on March 20, 2002 at the Kern River Valley Cem- etery in Wofford Heights. Pastor Dan Hellyer of the Christian Assembly of Moun- tain Mesa is presiding. Evelyn will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

He was an avid motorcycle rider starting out in 1932 on an Indian Scout and Harleys. He worked at Douglas Air- craft in Tool and Design during the Second World War. Robert Hans Bredal
Private services were held at Rose Hills Memorial Park on March 27, 2002 for Rob- ert Hans Bredal, who passed away March 21, 2002 in La- guna Hills, Calif, of cancer and pneumonia.
Bob was born Nov. 10, 1920 in Chicago. He at- tended Valparaiso University from 1939 until June of 1942, majoring in accounting. His college degree was put on hold when he enlisted in the Coast Guard in June 1942 during World War II. After his discharge in 1946, he mar- ried his sweetheart, Dorothy, and completed his last year of college at Valparaiso, graduating in June of 1947. Together, Bob and Dorothy moved to California and he worked for Peat Marwick Mitchell in San Francisco. They bought a home in San Lorenzo and had one daugh- ter, Pamela. In 1957, he be- came a Certified Public Ac- countant.
Eventually, Bob moved his family to Pasadena, Calif. to go into business for himself. His dad worked alongside him and they enjoyed many years together. Later, after taking many weekend trips to Lake Isabella, he and Dor- othy decided to move there and Bob closed his Pasa- dena office and opened his own CPA firm in Wofford Heights.
.
He became involveu in many civic and community or- ganizations- the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Exchange Club, the Kem Valley Elks, the Rod and Gun Club and the Masons. He often held the office of trea- surer because he had a way with numbers. Bob also volun- teered his help with VITA (Vol- unteer Income Tax Assistance) where he taught people howto help others prepare their in- come tax retums. This was especially helpful for those in the lower income tax bracket. Bob and Dorothy also became involved with the CB group. He was known as "Calculator" (naturally) and Dorothy was "Blue Eyes."
-
Over the years, he loved listening to his many record albums, working on his stamp and coin collections, fishing (when he had the time) and playing golf. He enjoyed the game of Cribbage and let's not forget dominoes. And he read anything by Louis L'Amour.
Bob "officially" retired in September 1993, but you could still find him busy at his office. Retirement never seemed to suit him. When Dorothy passed away in Au- gust 1999, Bob remained in their home. They had been married for 53 years. He was not accustomed to being alone, but he wanted to re- main in "God's Country," as he called his home in the Valley.
When he suffered a stroke in October 2000, it affected his right side and it became clear that the time had come for him to move closer to his daughter and her family in Orange County. He lived in Villa Valencia, a lovely Skilled Nursing Facility in Laguna Hills, and he adjusted to his new life there. He was con- fined to a wheelchair, but it never stopped him from join- ing in the various activities they provided.
In the fall of 2001 it was discovered that he had oral cancer. He was very coura- geous throughout his fight against the disease and the side effects of the radiation, but a cure was not meant to be. Pneumonia eventually took his life. His family was with him when he passed away peacefully into God's loving arms. It comforts us to know he is in Heaven with Jesus.
Bob will always be remem- bered in our hearts as a man with integrity, a loving dad and grandfather, a good friend to all he met and a terrific CPA. He leaves be- hind his daughter and son- in-law Pam and John Lin- coln and his grandson An- drew, all of Lake Forest, Calif .; and his wife's sister and her husband, Sandra and Vern Domeier of Boise, Idaho. We will miss him very much.

To Those I Love And To Those Who Love Me
When I am gone, release me and let me go.
I have so many things to see and do.
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears.
Be happy that we had so many years.
I gave you my love,
You can only guess how much you gave me in happi- ness.
Thank you for the love you each have shown,
but now it's time that I traveled alone. So grieve awhile for me if grief you must, .
then let your grief be com- fort by trust.
It's only for awhile that we must part,
So bless the memories within your heart.
I won't be far away, for life goes on.
So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can't see me
or touch me I'll be near,
And if you listen with your heart you'll hear,
All my love around you soft and clear.
And then, when you must come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and say, "Welcome home."

mation history, Mary gave up her little piece of "Ameri- cana" to become a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She chose to devote all her time to building her family and raising them the right way Being the matriarch of her family did not extinguish the creative flair that dwelled inside her. Mary continued to work in her own private studio and became very active in her church.
After moving to the Kern River Valley in 1994, Mary became highly involved at i.Jude's Catholic Church, where she became an ar- 'istic painter. Anything the råther would ask her to design/paint, she would take on wholeheartedly, and create it with style and elegance.

After his honorable discharge from the Army he and his family resided in Rock Island, III. prior to moving to California in 1952. His working career required him to travel exten- sively in the United States as well as, for two years, during 1958 and 1959, in Europe primarily Italy, Austria and Switzerland. He and Ann moved to Bodfish in 1987 for their retirement years. One of his regrets was that his work required so much travel that he couldn't spend as much time with his family, during his children's "grow- ing up" years, and friends as he would have preferred. However, he did feel privi- leged to have made so many good acquaintances and a few very dear friends during his travels. He preferred that everyone thinks of him as "just traveling" again, this time on his trip to etemity.

"Everyone Called Him Stoney" In Memory Of Danny Stone 1956 - 2002
If you lived or spent time in Kernville in the 80's, you may remember when the Riverside Cafe sold and became "STONEY'S" Riverside Cafe. It was 1982 Danny Stone took over the cafe, thus the STONEY Burger was born. I remember being asked by friends if I'd eaten at the new place yet, so I decided to give it a try ... it was the best burger I had ever had.
Along with his burgers Danny, only 26 at that time, was building quite a reputa- tion of his own, kind of a wild child, to put it mildly. You either like him or you didn't, there was no inbetween, if he was in the room, you knew it.
In 1984 Danny's dad Bill Stone retired from SCE and relocated to the valley with wife Bonnie. Later Bill and Danny joined forces and became business partners. In a conversation I had with Bill, he said, "the reputation of the STONEY burger sur- prised me, heck, I didn't even know he could cook!" Everyone wanted to know the secret indredients. Bill said that Danny would tell them ... "it's the order everything goes on the bun, what you put next to each other." One employee recalls, "people. would literally come from all over for a STONEY burger." To this day those that remember Stoney's will say, "along with the owners, the place was legendary". When they sold the cafe in 1987, the secrets left with them. Danny moved to Bakersifield and ended his career in the oil fields as a Directional Driller.
As I remember and say goodbye to you Danny, I would also like to thank you for giving me the two most precious things in my life, my grandchildren. Your daugh- ter Rachelle and son Joshua are your life's greatest achievement.
Love Michele
