Dutch Henderson
"Dad, Grandad, Old Friend"
He was a big, powerful man when he was young.
Could out work six men and still find time to have fun.
He raised his family during the hard times of the Great De- pression.
When a man had to beg for a job and work hard to make an impression.
He was a farmer, a rancher, and a custom hay baler too.
That was his occupation, but there was nothing he couldn't do.
Everyone knew him as "Dutch", we knew him as dad or Grandad.
Though sorrow has gripped our hearts, he wouldn't want us to be sad.
For he lived life to the fullest with great joy and love.
Never forgetting his blessings and strength came from God above.
He never knew a stranger, everyone was his friend for life. Gambling was his weakness and he had more than one wife.
He was known to drink whis- key and let the "good times roll."
But most of all he had a real love for people and was a gen- erous soul.
When he got old, he never complained, he didn't give up the race.
Said no one wanted to hear it, so he kept a smile on his face.
But with God in His heaven, we'll see you again.
Your daughter, Phi
