Nancy Joan Moffitt

Joanie was born in Farmersville, Texas to John and Rushia James on March 27, 1933. She entered into eternal life on October 28, 2002, at her son Jerry's home in Lake Isabella.

She was a very upbeat person who loved to enter- tain, laugh, and enjoy life. One of her greatest joys was to dance and bring enjoy- ment to others. She was very active in the ministry of her church, the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints.

Joanie was especially proud of her Texas roots. Whenever she would men- tion Texas, she would place her hand over her heart. She left Texas at the age of nine with her family during the Dust Bowl era. Her trip to California was likened to John Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath. She was a very interesting person to talk with about the trip.

Graveside services were held in Shafter Cemetery in Shafter, California on Fri- day, Nov. 1, 2002, with her son, Elder Jerry of the Mt. Mesa Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints, officiating.

Joanie will be missed by her many friends, and es- pecially by her family.

Services were entrusted to the Lake Isabella Funeral Home, a family owned fu- neral home.

Beulah Quiocho

Beulah Quiocho passed away in her sleep on Octo- ber 31, 2002. She was 80 years old.

Beulah was born on Au- gust 22, 1922 in Stockton, Califomia. Her parents were on their way to California by wagon train, and they had to stop the wagon train in Stockton for her birth, so she was indeed, a native Californian.

Beulah was married to Leroy Smith and had three children, Darrel Smith of Lake Isabella, Darlene Quiocho of Lake Isabella, and Dianne Kopenski of La- guna Hills.

After the death of her husband she married Clay Quiocho, and resided in West Covina. On his death she moved to Lake Isabella and resided with her son, Darrell and his wife, Janet.

She is survived by her three children, nine grand- children, and seven great grandchildren.

There was a viewing on Monday, November 4 at Valley Mortuary and ser- vices and interment at Rose Hills in the Los Angeles area on November 5.

Beulah was a member of St. Jude's church in Wofford Heights. She was a loving mother and fiercely proud of her children and family.

She was a lover of na- ture and enjoyed watching the birds from her window and enjoying the scenery here in our beautiful moun- tains. She loved dancing and music and especially singing. She had been known to break out in song if the occasion called for it. We commend her now to heaven and the angels and I'm sure she will take ad- vantage of that situation to sing a song or two.

No farewell words were spoken, no time to say good-bye. You were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why. When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. I miss you more every day. Cross my heart.

In Loving Memory of Robert William Rieder Nov. 19. 1925 to Oct. 14, 2002

Family and friends please lend me your ear I'd like to tell you something I think you should hear

It's about my Dad and I thought you should know Fate brought us together and we never let go

Dad and I met when I was just two By the time I was three he was my Bob-A-Lou

He took me on as one of his own Helped me through life till I was full grown

He didn't have to, it came from his heart

He just wanted me to have a good start

My life wasn't easy without a mother They moved me around from one place to another

But no matter where I'd end up to be Robert stayed close and watched over me

Little Chrissy Kimmy with a frayed family tree

He's been there in good times, he's been there in bad

Trust me when I say he's the World's Best Dad

I know there were times 1 gave him a scare I worked really hard to give him white hair

Dad always did the best that he could Taught me family values. taught me to be good

He'd be there to catch me when I'd have a fall

Pick me back up and say to stand tall

I imagine that this is what God had in mind

When he created fathers as perfect as mine

A man you can count on. a man you can call Even in those teen years when you knew it all

. My birthday. Christmas or even New Year's

The mailbox would hold some fatherly cheer

His love was loyal, steadfast and true He'd make me smile even when I felt blue

Dad proved to me love is thicker than blood To be proud of yourself to treat others with love

We needed each other as life rolled along Now it looks like I'm the one to be strong

The day has come now I never wanted to see The angels have called, he had to leave me

I sure will miss him and thank God above For blessing my life with Dad's gracious love
