FISKE
1. DAVID1 FISKE, * who probably came to America in 1636, settled at Watertown, where, admitted freeman March 1637, he was sclect- man 1640, and '43. He married SARAH SMITH, daughter of Edmund of Wrentham, Co. Suffolk, England, t but in his will, dated 10 Sept. 1660, and probated 22 Jan. 1662, no mention of his wife is made, and only his daughter Fitch, and son David, the latter being his "sole executer and residuary legatee." To this son were given the house, lands, cattle, and chattels of the father, and on 6 Aug. 1673, the son sold the homestead thus inherited, and two lots of land all located at Watertown to John Coolidge.

clerk, and one of the selectmen. On 16 Oct. 1676 he and his wife Seaborn sold Samuel Page 149 acres in Watertown, which had been granted formerly to his father David Fiske. His will, dated 22 Jan. 1708, and proved or probated 20 Dec. 1711, mentioned his wife Sea- born, his son Nicholas Wyeth, "my daughter being dead," children David, Elizabeth, and Abigail, and his cousin Samuel Stone, the son of Dea. Samuel. His estate was inventoried at £405, 17s. 6d.

4. JONATHAN4 FISKE (David,3 David,2 David1), born 19 May 1679, died at Sudbury 27 Dec. 1740. He was a corporal, and an assessor, and owned the church covenant in 1704, in order that his children be baptized. He subscribed for the purchase of the Com- mon in 1711, joined the church with his wife 24 Oct. 1708; and both were dismissed to the church at Sudbury in 1718, to which place he had moved, about 1713, and where he was made a deacon. His will,

dated 13 Nov. 1742, mentioned his wife Abigail, and five sons and seven daughters.

The present house, presumably the second, was erected in 1732. 6. LIEUT. EBENEZER4 FISKE (David,3 David,2 David1), born 12 Sept. 1692, died 19 Dec. 1775, in his 85th year, g. s. He was a select- man for ten years between the years 1739 and 1758, and filled many other offices. He lived on the road to Concord, and at his house during the battle of April 19, 1775, the American, Hayward, of Acton aggressively met a British soldier while the latter was com- ing from the well, between whom shots were exchanged with fatal effect to both.
He married first 24 Dec. 1718 GRACE HARRINGTON of Watertown, born 26 Aug. 1694, died 29 July 1721, g. s., daughter of Samuel2 and Grace (Livermore); secondly BETHIA MUZZY, born 15 Apr. 1701, died 19 Nov. 1774, g. s., daughter of Benjamin and Sarah ( ). Child by the first wife, died at Lexington:

7. DR. ROBERT5 FISKE (Robert, 4David, 3 David,2David1), born 12 Jan. 1721-22, died between 1764 and 1767; was a physician, and in 1752 located at Woburn, where he was taxed from 1752 to 1762. He served in 1760 in the French war; and in 1764 is this entry in the town records, "Dr. Fiske and family came last from Woburn."
He married first MRS. ABIGAIL GROVER; secondly (intention dated 27 July 1748) BETTY WILSON, died 14 Dec. 1770 .*

He married 13 Dec. 1751 HEPZIBAH RAYMOND, born 19 Sept. 1729, died 9 Oct. 1820, daughter of Jonathan2 and Hepzibah (Leech).
