highway for Thomas Kendall and the neighborhood westerly of him, through his land to the town road. A long, bitter controversy about this road was settled by Kendall's giving a bond to the town in 1730, binding himself and heirs to save the town harmless from all expense in maintaining the road. The locality of his residence was presumably south and west of the Great Meadow, and near the brook running into the same, and near what is now known as the "Katahdin Spring" place. He was constable in 1718, and filled several other subordinate town offices.
He married 7 Nov. 1701 SARAH CHEEVER, died at Framingham 2 May 1761, aged 75, daughter of Rev. Thomas and Sarah (Bill) of Chelsea. They probably came to Lexington about 1710. They were admitted to the church 1728, dismissed to that at Framingham 1745 to which place they had removed.
