NICHOLAS AMBROSE1 MORELL was born in France about 1780, died 27 Apr. 1862.
He received his education in a convent and was designed it is supposed for the church. He was however conscripted into the French army, and served in Napoleon's second campaign in Italy. He was in the famous battle of Marengo, and afterwards went to Holland and thence to America. He took up his residence in Lex- ington before 1798 and was engaged in the fur-dressing business. He served on the school committee in 1830, on other important committees, represented the town for two years, 1832-33, in the legislature, and was besides a justice of the peace.

JOHN NOYES3 MORSE (Jonas N.,2 Ephraim1) was born at Way- land 13 May 1844, son of Jonas Noyes, born at East Sudbury, now Wayland, 15 Jan. 1813, and grandson of Ephraim and Eunice (Noyes). His mother, Sarah Henshaw Scott, was born at Leicester 15 Oct. 1812, daughter of William Henshaw and Persis (Earle). The ancestor, Samuel Morse, came from England and settled at Dedham.
He enlisted as a private 16 Aug. 1862 in Co. D, 35th Mass. Inf'y, and was discharged as Ist Lieut. He was in the battles of Antietam, Fredericksburg, Knoxville, the Crater, and Weldon rail- road, and was severely wounded at Poplar Grove Church, resulting in his discharge 18 Jan. 1865. He was captain in the State Militia 1866. He became a resident of Lexington in 1869.

MULLIKEN
1. NATHANIEL3 MULLIKEN (John,2 Robert1) was born at Brad- ford 8 Aug. 1722, died 26 Nov. 1767, son of John and Mary (Poor) and grandson of Robert and Rebecca ( ). Robert came from Scotland, and settled at Newburyport or Rowley.
He was a clockmaker by trade, and according to the custom of that day he carried his clocks around for a market. In the pursuit of his calling he visited Lexington, and set up one of his timepieces at Dea. John Stone's and there met his future wife. He appears to have settled at Lexington about the time of his marriage, for his name appears on the tax list in 1752, and he was chosen tythingman in 1754.
He married 6 June 1751 LYDIA STONE, born 20 Sept. 1729, died 13 Nov. 1785, daughter of Dea. John4 and Mary (Reed). She was admitted to the church 1752. She married secondly 18 Nov. 1777 Jonathan4 Harrington. Her dwelling was burned by the British on 19 April 1775, and the property destroyed was valued at £431. It was near the site of the barn recently removed from the estate of the late Warren Sherburne on Mass. Ave., now (1912) owned by Mr. Frank Russell Shepard.

GENEALOGIES
He is first referred to in the Cambridge records in 1657. About 1660 he settled in the northeasterly part of Cambridge Farms, now Lexington, near the Woburn line, in what is still called "Scotland," the site of his original house being still in the possession of the family. He wasmade freemanin 1690, and 1 Feb. 1699 were "Receaved than Into the Communion of the church, William Munroe, Sen': (and other members of the family) whose Relations had been Read, & had stood propounded three weeks." In 1694 he was selectman of Cambridge, and subsequently his name appears in connection with several of the important offices of the parish. In his will, dated 14 Nov. 1716, he mentions sons John, William, George, Daniel, Joseph and Benjamin, and daughters Eleanor Burgess, to whom he gave sole use of his house, Martha Comee, Hannah Pierce, Elizabeth Rugg, and Mary Fassett.
He married first about 1665 MARTHA GEORGE, died before 1672, daughter of John of Charlestown; secondly in 1672 MARY BALL, died Aug. 1692, g. s., aged 41; thirdly MRS. ELIZABETH (JOHNSON) DWYER, died 14 Dec. 1714, aged 79, daughter of William and Elizabeth ( ) Johnson and widow of Edward Dwyer.
