He married 25 Oct. 1683 HANNAH LEAVITT, born at Hingham 20 Mar. 1663-64, died 25 Oct. 1728, daughter of John and Sarah ( ). She married secondly 25 Aug. 1693 Joseph2 Estabrook.

He came to Lexington from Hingham probably about 1706, bought ninety acres of land of John Poulter in 1706, and in 1711 was one of the subscribers for the purchase of the Common. He was constable 1714 and town treasurer 1724-26, and was chosen deacon in 1743.
He married LYDIA FISKE of Cambridge, born 14 May 1685, died 4 Oct. 1758, daughter of David3 and Sarah ( ). They were admitted to the church 4 July 1708.

He was chosen deacon 20 May 1756 and held that office thirty- one years; he was often employed on important committees, and was on that of correspondence in 1773. He resided on what is now the Hunt estate, opposite the High School.
His house was pillaged. "an Amount of the Real and Personal Eftate belonging to Joseph Loring of Lexington deftroyed and car- ried off by the British Troops in their Ravages in said Town on the 19 of April 1775. Viz. -
