SUSPECTS OPEN FIRE

E. B. Hatten, Named C. of C. President Last Week, Vic- time of Indigestion


Spesial Dispose to The Nowa LEBANON. Jan. - 18 .- Edgar B. Hatten, 40 mayor of Lebanon and president of the Chamber of Com- merco here. died suddenly at his home at 4:30 o'clock this afternoon of heart disease resulting from acute Indigestion. .

Mr. Hatten was's native of Obia' relatives this morning that be was feeling ill. and decided to remain at home during the day. His con- dition grew worse suddenly and a physician was summoned. Stoppage of the heart due to Indigestion was blamed for his death.

Mr. Hatton was a natice of Ohio. For 20 years he had lived in Lebe- non. gradually enlarging bis bual- ness interests from his first enter- prise here, a fruit tree nursery. He was secretary and manager of the Magnetic Ice and Bottling company at the time of his death. Only a week ago he was elected to head the Lebanon Chamber of Commerce. Hle term as mayor would have ended next April.

Mrs. Moltcia Drake, aged Web- Ater county women, was instantly killed this morning when shot through the head. It was learned here today. It is unknown who, shot her.

Mrs. Lon Edmonson, 64, assistant cashier of the Bank of Republic and daughter of the' lato Judge Grundby Dollison, probate judge and Greene county ploneer, died suddenly yesterday morning at Mount Vernon where she Had gone on business.

Judge Dollison lived here many years and then engaged In farming near Brookline where Mra. Edmonson was born.


She is survived by two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Bradshaw, Mrs. Norman Smith, of Oklahoma; Pete Dollison, of R. F. D. No. 3. Springfield and Jake Dollison, of Woodson.
