Mra. Mary J. Pierce Ellis of 719 North Campbell avenue, a lifelong republican but a "Jim Smith demo- arat," cast her first democratio vote in the primary election last night in the fifteenth ward. That, in Itself, might not be so very unusual -but since Mra, Elis is nearly 108 years old, it isn't hard to see that the situation is somewhat out of the ordinary.

F The celebration at the home place knowa . at Marshfield as the old Eubanks: farm, was a quiet? one with . only members of the family in attendance, but there were many stirring memories recalled by' Mr. and Mrs. Zigelhofer as they once again returned to the farm that was their home for many years after they came to this country. .

In 1893 he brought his family of six to' America and shortly after purchased the farm near Mar-b- field on which at that time there was a little one-room log cabin, with only one-window.


-- The first thing he did, friends re -. late was to cut another window In the house and It wasn't long tintil he built a larger and better home. which was for years the outatand- ing building in that district.

His first farming consisted main- ly In raising grapes, which was one of the principal agricultural prod- ucts of his honte country. Hte then branched out his farming Interests to include varied crops and today the two sons have a herd of 74 Jersey cattle on the farm, rated as one of the outstanding herds in the Ozark region.
