Virgil M. Langley, former stu- dent of State Teachers college, who has been teaching at Elkland, Mo .. died yesterday. Mr. Langley was coach of the Elkland basketball team, became ill two weeks ago while the team was playing at Buf- falo and died of pneumonia fever.

Aged Man Is Killed When Struck by Car At Mountain Grove

MOUNTAIN GROVE, MO, 5b. 15 .- Dick Langston,' TE, died this afternoon one hour after having been struck by a Ford coupe while he was walking on the public square.


Mr. Langston had been a street cleaner on the square in Mountain Grove for 21 years. It was while he was sweeping the atreet this Afternoon that he stepped . from behlod an automobile on the square into the path of a couple driven by Leslle Lower. Mr. Lower stopped hu car Immediately and helped carry the injured man into a doc- tor's office.


Mr. Langston im survived by a daughter and son.


WILLIAM J. MILLER


William J. Miller, 86. resident of Springfield 60 years, died at his home, 222 West Central street, yes- terday morning. Mr. Müller in sur- vived by the widow, one brother. J. J. Miller, of Springfield, and one sia- ter. Mrs. Addie Whitcomb, of the state of Washington. Mr. Miller was a member of the St Paul M. C. church. Funeral services will be |, held at the Paxson Funeral home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be In Maple Park cemetery.


NATHAN & BROWN


Nathan 8. Brown, 16 years old. died yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at his home, 2311 North Main avenue. A short funeral service will bø conducted this morning at 9 o'clock at the home, conducted by the Reverend J. A. Roper, pastor of


the Hamlin Memorial Baptist church, and the body will be taken to Rich Hill for burial after another service. Mr. Roper, who was a vet- eran of the Civil war. had been ill about four weeks. He is survived by the following sons and daugh- term: . Fred and Ralph Brown of Washington state: Burr Brown, BII- lings: Mra. Nanette Cobb and Mrs. June Wheelbarger of Springfield. Mrs. Nora Wilson of Rich Hill and Mra. Beulah Burch of Wichita, Kan .. A stepdaughter, Mrs. Frankle De Jarnett of Sheridan, Wyo., also aur- vives him.
