\.WEST PLAINS, Mo., April 14 .-- (Satur- day; 6 a. m.)-Twenty-eight bodies had been recovered at this hour from the ruins of the Weiser building here-wrecked by a terrific explosion at 11:30 o'clock last night while a dance was in progress.


Fifteen injured persons lie in the Christa- Hogan hospital and in private homes. Some of the injured most surely will die.


Flames which followed the awful blast destroyed the. Weiser building and three ad- jacent structures - each a two-story brick building.


Plains' elite younger set. Among the merry- makers and now among the dead -were the most prominent younger men and women of West Plains.


At 11:30 o'clock the dance was at its height. The three-piece orchestra was near- ing Home, Sweet Home. Miss Dimples Martin, at the piano, was pounding out the strains of a popular melody-nobody remem-
