- Mrs. Boz wa a pioncer resident of the Ozarts. She had .resided In Springfield many years, having come bere from Christian county.


She is survived b, four daughters. Mrs. Kelpe, Mra. J. R. Rogers of Freno. Cal : Mri. A. A. Denton uf 709 Bouth Fort avenue and Mrs. C. 8. Stanley. 29 South Orant avenue; by two sistern. M:s. 'Bowser of Denver. C: an.4 Mm K.winzer of Ozark. n:d four brothers, Thomas. Dob, Newton and James Napes of Ozark: a step- mother. Mrs. Martha Napen of Ozark. and seven grandchildren and two crest grandchildren.

M. A. WALDRON, 84 years old, who served in Pickett's di- vision at the Battle of Gettysburg. died at his home "In Carthage Thursday. The Confederate veteran had served as merchant policeman in Carthage the last 20 years. His wife and five daughters survive.

FATALLY BURNED IN OIL EXPLOSION


Using Kerosene to Start Stove, Woman's Clothing Catches And Child Mortally Help Be- fore Help Arrives


MRS. GLADYS W. NASH, 20, and Jimmie Leo Nash, ber five- month-old mon, died in a Spring- field hospital yesterday of burns received when fire destroyed their home at Branson.


.Mrs. Nash, wife of Sam Nash, Branson barbar, about 11:30 o'clock yesterday morning started to make a fire in the kitchen store to pre- pare dinner. From a five-gallon can abe poured coal off Into the atore upon some kindling. There were live coals in the stove which caused the oll to flame up and the can axploded.


With ber drese in flames, " Mrs. Nash ran into the yard and rolled u, on the ground but ber clothing was burned from her. The house caught in flames and neighbors bearing the terrified soreams of Mra. Nash rushed to help.


The baby was lying upon the bed. Harry Waltz, a neighbor, broke out a window and reached the child. which already had suffered from the smuke and flames.


The mother and child rushed to Springfield In the R. O. W'heichel ambulance, but the baby died at 6 o'clock yesterday after- noon and the mother two houre later.


The Branson fire department succeeded 10 .xtinguishing the flames before the house had burned to the ground, but it was virtually destroyed

Mira, Nash also had a son, Sam- mle, 2 years old, who was playing In the yard at the time of the tragedy and waa uninjured. --


The Nash family had lived In Branson for several months, Their home was virtually destroyed by |


the fire.


Funeral services for the mother and child will be held in Reede Spring Sunday. The bodies will be taken there today by the Whelchel Undertaking company. They are at present at the Klingner Under- taking company morgue.
