wall again. This tine it led to the barn, past a pond and to a field where Gregory . was working. The dogs went straight to him.

They led him awny to a cell at Mon, where he will stay until he la brought here again Monday for a preliminary hearing on n murder charge before Justice M. W. Allen Coroner Leo Carr called together a coroner's Jury this morning. and Prosecuting Attorney Sam Meeks presented the evidence. The Jury lesed the body, heard the text !- mony of Mr. Wyatt of Springfield,

1 JURY'S VERDICT
After reciting the finding of Brenner's body and describing the wounds which caused ble death. the verdict concluded by declaring that "the gun was discharged by Wil- liam Gregory, and the wounda from which deceased met his death were Inflicted by Willlam Gregory: and wo do further find that William Gregory waa the person who com- mitted the felony." The verdict waa signed by Bonny McCourtney. E. 8. Ryan, Fred Martin. George W. Low. Irvin Tyree and T. W. Meanra.

Heart Attack Is Fatal to Young Springfield Business Man; Funeral Saturday
George W. Linea, 33. youngest so of L. E. Lines and a director of Lines Muslo company, died at 18 o'clock seaterday of an acute at- tack of heart disease at the family Dome, 1833 Cherry street.
Mr. Lines had been confined to his home the past week, following an attack of Influenza which og- gravated heart disease he bad auf- fered for some ilme, He was alone In his room when death came.
His family moving to Springfield when he was a small boy. Mr. Lines had lived here virtually his eoure life Ile was graduated from senior High school, and attended Drury and State Teachers collecta.
Funeral services will be con- ducted at 3 o'clock Saturday after- neon at the home, with the Rever end lewis R. Anschutz, pastor of St. John's Episcopal church, ottl- rating. Burial will be in Kapte Park cemetery under direction of the Alma Lohmeyer Funeral home.
MRS. I. W. MAYFIELD DIES AT HOME IN LEBANON, MO.
LEBANON. Mo. April 5 -Mrs. I. W. Mayfield, daughter of a pluneer Laciede county family, died at her bome here Wednesday after a short illness. She was married to Mr. Mayfield In Laclede county In 188 !.

Bbe also is survived by two brothers, T. I. Greenstreet, of Fort Smith, Ark, and C. W. Greenstreet. of Monmouth, Ill. Also two half brothers, Floyd Greenstreet, of La- chede county, and James Green- street. of Nebraska.
She was a member of the Meth- odist church and the Royal Neigt- bors of America.
Funeral services will be held at the South Methodist church at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon with in- terment at Lebanon.
