Jan. 26- Charles Vernon. 46, prominent in republican politics of southern Missouri for many years and dep- uty game warden in the Ozarks region, died suddenly at 7:30 o'clock this morning. Physicians said heart trouble caused death.
Mr. Vernon was a Spanish war veteran and Jost a thumb while In the service in the Philippine Is- landa.
He held several political appoint- menta in government departmenta. He was connected with the probibl- tlon enforcement agency for some time and was then transferred to the Income tax division. During recent years he had been attached to the state game and fish depart- ment. He was a member of the congressional and state republican committees.
Mr. Vernon came of one of the pioneer Laclede county familles. Hla paternal grandfather came to Laclede county in 1844 from Ton- neasee and founded many Important projecta In the neighborhood.

He was a lieutenant In the 3rd Georgia Volunteers of the Confeder- ate arms. Mr. Blair was born and reared In the state of Georgia.
Mr. Blair Is aurvived by three sona . H. 8. Blair of Ava; George W. and A. D of this city; hy a daughter. Mrs. Palmer Pillard, of Ben, Ore; and by 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren

Former Wife Files Suit Against Mate Who Has Remarried.
Charging that her husband. Harry R. Watson, fraudulently obtained . divorce from her in Judge Quy D. Kirby's division of circuit court imat September. Mrs .. Fern P. Watson of Mlemi, Fla., yesterday flied sult to set aside and annul the divorce de- cree.
Mrs. Watson charged her husband had not lived In Missouri for a year prior to the filing of the action. The petition sets out they reelded in Miami. Fla., from September 4, 1025 until March 28, 1927.
The husband now realdes In St. Louis with his bride, formerly Miss Fausta Louise Thweatt of Greenfield.
