FAITHFUL upto death. little .: poodle dog yesterday"fought off three Frisco railroad empime's who at- tempted to recover the body of ati unidentified-man who early.yesterday morning was killed by Frisco freight tra'n No. 34. two miles west of Verona.


The man, who was hiking the ratls from Monelt to Springfield, suffered a fractured skull when the freight train hit him. Members of the train crew said he eridentiy did not hear the engine's waruing whistle.

The accident was reported at Ver- OUR to W M. lewis, station agent, and three men, were rushed jaci. On a mio- Lor car to recover the body. Arriving ---- at the scene, they found a little dog sitti .. g on his master's body. The dog - refused to allow' the Frisco 'men to come near for some time.


Apparently convinced that the. men would not harm his master. the dog finally gave up the battle and the body was placed on the car and taken to Verona. where it was examined by Dr. J. Will Smith. "Coroner Wessell was notified and removed the body to Peirce City. where an Inquest will be held this afternoon.
