Robert, 1647 (see p. 168, Vol. I); was a kinsman of Thomas Nowell, and received from him a bequest, 1648, as also did Isabel Wilson, wife of William Phelps, Jr. No family is recorded to him.
Samuel (prob. s. of Robert above), m. 1 May, 1672, Mary Griffin. - O. C. R. Ile d. 3 Aug., 1697; was a contributor to the Conn. Relief Fund of 1676. See p. 230. lle was a nephew of Isabel Wilson, the wife of William Phelps, Jr .; lived with him as a sou; in 1683 acknowledged a dividing fence to have been erected "by himself and his brother [-in-law] Griffin, about the time of the Indian War, when they kept garrison at my uncle Philip's house."- Ciril Cuses, ii, 50, 81. 29 May, 16-3- Scy State's Office. In 1696, he, with John Wilson * of Hartford, were sum- moned by Court to answer for illegal trespass upon and improving lands formerly of Thomas Nowell, and then in occupancy of Thomas Cook, and claimed by Thos.
