ST. PETERS CLUB-23 Main St., Gloucester. Was founded in 1926 by a group of Italo-American fishermen. Beginning in a small way, now in 1946 it has a membership of over 400, of whom 200 have served in the armed forces of the U. S. The club owns it building free of debt. Mr. Ben- jamin Curcuru, was its first president and held said office for 14 years. Was followed by Samuel Pezzamenta, as second president and by John Cur- curu, as third president. The club is situated in one of the finest sections of the city and furnishes clean entertainment, good fellowship and unity among its members. It has a large dance hall, social and refreshment rooms, bowling alleys and library.

O. in New England; State director of Textile Workers Union of America and of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers. Chairman of numerous organ- izations and thousands of workers have been unionized under his leader- ship in the mass production industries of New England. Strong sup- porter of the New Deal and led the labor campaign in N. E. for Roose- velt in 1936 and 1940. Member: N. E. War Labor Board; War Manpower Commission and War Production Board of N. E.
