DE LUCA, PIO-Display manager, Gillette Safety Razor Co., Boston. Born Middletown, Conn. April 18, 1888. Son of Charles de Luca and Agata Sicuro. Graduated South Boston High School and attended Lowell Institute of M. I. T. specializing in art. In the service of Gillette Safety Razor Co. since 1935, as display designer and art works. Is the first to use electro- plating in plaster of Paris, a very delicate labor in miniature. His work on the doors of the Salada Tea Co. of Boston has given him an enviable reputa- tion. Innumerable are his art pieces as tablets, plaques, vases, under the same process. He applies the art to the modern exigencies for its commer- cial and economical possibilities. Was selected to perpetuate in bronze the portrait of O'Connell, owner of E. T. Slattery Co. of Boston. Mr. de Luca is veteran of U. S. Army World War I, and has traveled extensively here and abroad. Married Carmela Cersosimo Jan. 5, 1920 a graduate of South Boston High. Children: Robert, a graduate of M. I. T. is designing engi- neer; Charles, is attending Harvard Musical School; and Peter, is student. Mr. de Luca's father was born in Viareggio, Lucca, Italy. Came to U. Served in Italian Army as First Lieutenant in the Death Battalion (Arditi) and fought in the Austria and Tripoli wars, decorated three times for bravery. Following his return to U.
