Member: Amerigo Vespucci Club; call force Plymouth Fire Dept., and president Plymouth Order Sons of Italy. Fond of baseball, hunting, travel and music. His father was born in Petruro, Avellino, Italy. Came to U. S. in 1901 settling in Brockton as leather worker. Had following children: Domenic D., Mary V., Mrs. Ester Wallent, Frances D., and Dorothy (a graduate nurse). Res .: 270 Court St., Plymouth.

Attended public school in his native town. Came to U. S. in 1913 settling in Brockton. In business since 1919. Married the late Colomba Procaccini of Providence, R. I. Children: late Jennie, graduate of Brockton High and Elliot College; Rosie, a gradu- ate of Brockton High; Frank, in U. S. Army overseas; Madeline, attended Brockton Business College; Albert, Viola and Rita are students. Mr. Zar- rella is member of Order Sons of Italy and Artillery Society. ZARRELLA, SERAFINO-Proprietor, Red Star Shoe Repairing, 346 Main St., Brockton. Born Torrioni, Avellino, Italy, March 1, 1884. Son of Pellegrino Zarrella and Elizabetta Cirelli. Came to U. S. in 1901 settling in Brockton, where he worked in shoe mfg. for ten years. Was selected by the United Shoe Machinery Co. as their representative for the whole of Italy, a position he held for fourteen years, in which time he was inducted in the Italian Army and served three years as Supt. of a govern- ment shoe factory, with the rank of Lieutenant. Left Italy in 1923 because of his dislike of Fascism. Following his return to U. S. he established his shoe repairing business in Brockton and has since been engaged in that field. Married Letizia Strollo of Boston, June 1904. Children Peter (Pelle- grino) and Albert, both in grocery business; Josephine, married to Joseph Carnabucci, and Ida, married to Alfredo Ciancio. Member Order Sons of Italy and is the first of all the Zarrella's to settle in Brockton. Has following brothers and sisters: Michelangelo, Arcangela, Rosa, Domenico and Giovanni. Res .: 63 Ford St., Brockton.
