VALENTINE, VINCENT JAMES-Police Officer. Born Cartoceto, Pe- saro, Italy, Oct. 29, 1905. Son of Aldo Valentine and Luisa Palmucci. Brought to U. S. in 1911 settling in Springfield. Educated in the elemen- tary and Classical High School. Entered the Springfield Police Dept. April 11, 1929, and until 1931, was on street duty; 1931-36, assigned to motor- cycle squad; 1936-41, assigned to detective bureau; since 1941 police offi- cer, being the pioneer Italian American active policeman in Springfield. Acts also as an Italian interpreter in the police court. Married Mary Ann Fitzgerald of Springfield, Nov. 11, 1939. Member: Mass. Police Assoc .; Springfield Police Relief; the Elks; honorary member of Marconi Club and of Adriatic Club. Fond of baseball, football and bowling. Res .: 889 Roosevelt Ave., Springfield.
